Hi everybody . How do the Khazari use their mining machines in war ? Since the mining machines have their drills in their belly , as can be seen in this pic http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i105/ ... chines.jpg , they should go onto their objectives in order to drill them . So , do the mining machines ''jump'' over enemy tanks drilling them , or do they fight in another way ? Thank you very much .

I would assume the drilling rig is simply transported to the general area by the transport walker, and then steers it's way to the target in a similar fashion to a Termite or Hellbore. This is only a guess though. It certainly removes the problem of making the drill a giant target as it negotiates hostile territory.

I think it is supposed to be an industrial vehicle adapted for military use. See it as a transporter more than an actual fighting machine. The drill bit is a transport module similar to the Mole or Hellbore from GW. The walker module could then be used as a close combat machine of sorts with the claws at the front.

The Khazari Mining Machine is an industrial vehicle, they walk out onto the target area then use their feet to bed down into the ground, squating to give the drill purchase. The drill is then released to crunch through the ground creating tunnels, mining or transporting troops / equipment to where it is needed the most.

The machine has utility arms which it uses to pick up and move equipment or obstacles, these can be used in CC but are not designed for that express purpose. The primary defensive mechanisms on the machine are two plasma rifles attached to the head.
