Chaps, for a while we've been working on a bit of a secret project.

The poor little Guilders have been been having a bit of trauma dealing with enemy armour. They have the Enforcer UPV, which whilst being a terrifying, death dealing beast of EPIC proportions, is slow.

So... being the inventive little bunch they are, they opted for a few armoured vehicles. The first of whilst is being printed as we speak.

I thought it might be fun to show off the development process...

See below:

Then we found Otterman and bribed him with some wedge to do some 3D drawings for us...

Starting with the first track...

Added a turret, made a few chassis changes.

That's one evul tank!
Good luck to the guilders for getting that one!

Aw, we've got newer stuff than that, Tom. Or are we keeping that in the pantry, so to speak?

Then made the turret bigger, added a proper joint and added detail to the rear.

I do love quality rears...

Now it is just being printed... ready to be ok'ed, bronzed and cast up.

BTW: The other vehicles, they are next in the queue.

Go crazy chap ;), the shroud of secrecy is now lifted!

Hmmm... I kinda like them. Any chance the tracks would be separate from the hull?

EDIT: the new image looks much better than the sketches and the first render :)

Me, too. The back of the tank looks good also!

Very nice armor.

Well, they follow The Great War concept. And love of that's what keep us all in this part of the neck, right?

Damnit, Tom! You and Otterman just made me tear up my plans for fiscal restraint this year!

We just cross-posted. The right-rear view was the 'money shot', so to speak.

Edit - the interesting thing about this project is that the bulk of the work for the variants is already done. The tread/hull portion consumed the majority of the effort. A number of variants will simply need new turrets. Others will just require superficial changes to the hull (hatches, gubbins, other easy stuff).

A slightly better pic of the sketches.

Suggestions are of course welcome (which was part of the idea behind releasing the pics before we have a ready bronze)

The basic idea was to have a modular design instead of a wide range of different hulls. In character with the Guild's corporate way of thinking, this solution is quite cost effective and makes production easily adapted to changing battlefield conditions (And cheaper for Tom too :D ).
Think the many variants based on german Panzer 3 or 4 chassis or GW's Rhino and you get the idea. Idealy the finished tank will just be the basic hull with a selection of turrets and sponsons. These parts can be mixed and matched according to your modelling needs, so if you want sponsons on your MBT, simply use the ones from the IFV etc.

If you find any particular eyesores now would be the time to say so so we can correct it in time. Also ideas or suggestions for new or improved module parts are of course more than welcome. :;):

edit: The Phalanx is obviously just the hull with one of the Enforcer/Gladius turrets.

second edit. The pic isn't as good when downsized this much. If there's an interest I can post larger pics of the individual designs.

Until Otterman recieves the test print we won't know the exact size for sure, but here's a rough comparison shot next to some GW tanks to give you some impression of the planned size. Like Tom said, the turret has been made a bit taller than on this sketch.

do you have any with a comparison to the chimera?

One thing that I think would look nice is if the turret housing for the MBT and arty were wider so they overlapped the track area a bit kind of like the SPAAG and MRL.
