Hi everybody! It?s been rather quiet around here for a while. I know a lot of people have been wondering why there?s been no new releases (Particularly of the greens you saw last year). Thing is that the caster has had difficulties meeting the demands to keep up production of current products as well as creating a stock of the new releases. However Tom has informed me that a parcel with miniatures should be en route to me now, so I can slap a bit of paint on them for the online store. This means that you should probably see the first new miniatures available in the next month or so. Furthermore Tom has allowed me to disclose a bit of sneak info on some of the future plans for EW. In light of the recent news about SG I think a lot of people would like to have some idea of what is/will be available on the 6mm market so they can plan their future armies around it. I?m happy to announce that the EW line of armoured vehicles will see a large expansion soon. (and frankly this is a bit overdue too IMO). Concepts were finalized last year of a range of tanks for the Guild armies, and it will not be long before these concepts will be turned into greens. The range will be a modular design with a standard tank chassis with various weapon add-ons, which will allow you to build MBTs, IFVs, Artillery, AA, APC, you name it. The expansion will also include the largest EW miniature to date: The MCAS (Mobile Command and Siege Vehicle). This may be an all metal or a combined Resin/metal kit, depending on what is most economic without compromising quality and detail. Much more info about these will become available once Tom finishes the Guild Source Book. This richly illustrated document will provide some more in-depth information about the background of the EW universe as well as detailed descriptions of each unit in the army. You already saw greens of a new race called the Tarragin. There?s some work underway to expand this army further. Also concepts for another Human faction, the ?Royal Empire? are in the making, which should turn out quite interesting. The overall design of this army is a bit more high tech than the Guild and will include walker-type warmachines (Hey, It wouldn?t be 6mm sci fi without them now would it ![]() These things are of course somewhat in the future, and will probably not see release until 2009. For the time being the focus is the release of the current greens and the new Guild AFVs. As far as rules and fluff goes, it is the design philosophy of the EW project, that we set up the basic framework. Utilising the possibilities of the internet, it is the plan to take an "open source" approach and have the EW universe and rules evolve through the interaction of players. The idea is for the project to be inclusive rather than exclusive. To see possibilities rather than restrictions. Basically we found this approach much more interesting than the "set in stone"package kind of universe you might find from other companies. More info about this will become available i April. As L4 would say: The future of 6mm wargaming is bright. With or without GW ![]() |

Thanks for the update, Warmaster. I'm excited to hear about what the future holds. Any idea when we might see the rules, even if it is only a rough draft? |

Currently coding the new website is taking up all my free time, but we are aiming for April ![]() It'll be a generic system, not designed to be army specific and open source as WMN said earlier, so people can use it as they see fit. I imagine and I hope that what you see in April 2008 will be unrecognisable to the version thats around in 2009, we've always been about the models, and it's my way of thinking that players make games that players like to play ![]() |
