I like the wider turret because it balances better visually with the tracks because the wider bulkier treads of the hull are at odds with the sleeker turret. With how the hull looks I think it needs a more brutal look about it.. Though if you wanted more of the thinner turret, reducing the width of the tracks would also accomplish the same balance.

Always do whatever is easiest ... without turning them into G/W Vindy Mk.IIs* ...  :vD   And I like the T-28 concept ... *but see line above ...  :)) And Just FYI ... the IDF's Merkava had the rear ramp design for rapid ammo reloading and even Medevac, if needed ...  But regardless ... *   8v)

I think Option 2 for the modified Trident looks pretty decent, and there's a lot to be said for simple to make and build.  Having said that, if you've always wanted to do a sci-fi T-28 then you should go for it   .  Do not construe that my feedback will in any way mean I won't buy the finished product  :))

I probably prefer the larger turret on the MBT, but only by a narrow margin.  It does look a bit more in keeping with the overall dimensions, though I get the concept behind the smaller turret.

Awesome looking 3D render too.  Just one question, is that meant to be a shell ejection port on the back of the turret...and if so, should it be directly behind the commanders cupola?  If it's just a gubbins ignore me

Colour me impressed.

I'm fond of option 2 for the Trident, too.  Dunno why.  Personal aesthetics.

I think the wider turret for the Achilleus looks better in front view, though I agree it looks a little squareish in top view.  Although judging by the profile, I think it'd look better in 3D/person.
BTW, does the hemisphere on the turret 'do' anything?  Judging by the beachballs attached to the Icharus (sp. intentional?) and Cerberus, I'd guess it's some kind of sensor array.

I think the wider turret looks a little better on the Apollo, too.  But again, I think the narrower turret might not look so bad in 3D.  Don't worry about it looking like a Basilisk, anyway.  Probably don't need to tell you that the turret of that looks very similar to a lot of RL SPGs. :;):

A shell ejection port is usually is on the loader's side. The Commander & Gunner are usually on the opposite side of the loader ... again ... just FYI ... :vD  Regardless, I like the models ! :agree:    And my choice is the wider turret, if you've ever been in a tank ... you'll know why ... :D

Dat's kinda what I meant....that hot shell is going right over the commanders shoulder....or between his legs if he's not buttoned up.  :oh:

MBT Turret width:  I think the 3d print will tell us much. There's a huge difference between how things look in frontal and profile shots, and how they'll look on the table so let's see how it turns out when O-man recieves the test print :)

As for the rear gadget: I think we ended up calling it a cooling vent. To differentiate it a bit from the Enforcer and the Tank Hunter Tom and I talked about the tank being armed with some kind of laser or energy weapon (which would also help justify the smaller turret since you probably wouldnt need a loader).
The ball thingy is indeed supposed to be some kind of sensor. It might need to be sexied up a bit for the AA and MRL where it is more pronounced.

As for the Trident: I'm beinning to come around for the Option 2 as well but I guess we'll play around with it a bit in 3d and see what happens :)

Artillery: Wider turret is probably the way to go as I sometimes forget just how small these things will be in print. (and you're right: It is getting more and more difficult to produce a design GW or FW haven't already copied from real life :D )

This transluscent blue plastic does not photograph well at all.

The real thing, seen with real eyes, is very satisfying.

Oooh! Fantastic! If it is difficult to photograph you could give it a light spray of white undercoat. It shouldn't be a problem if we're not going to mould this anyway. It would definitely make evaluation eaiser :)

Can-do (after work).

Then I'll mold up a few for you and Tom, then ship 'em off.
