Bit late to this but...

Say you do some lists for EpicA (you really should, you have a slew of playtesters down there as well), I would buy an army pack consisting of 3-4000 points of competitive troops (with no doubt a few extra options which are scored point wise). Thats then a ready made army - could even call it the tactic it is supposed to encapsulate - so Guild Armoured Core etc etc.

My only concern with that is the legal ramifications. I have no problems with fan made lists, but I wouldn't like to draw up an official Guild army list by EW, although, I will of course happily link to one.

Just say 'all the models you need to play 'game workshops epic armeggedon'.
Plus I may be wrng but I deleiver the ip is for unique background, not stats, so as long as nothing GW was mentioned anywhere it would be fine. So just 'Guild Army list' Stat x, init x, units, formations, stats etc. Nothing gw specific mentioned anywhere.

Indeed we all know for instance GW minis are in lists for future war commander.

Well with my already HUGE 6mm Sci-fi collection   ... I plan on only getting a plt of 3-4 of each AFVs type.  If I have to buy'm in packs of 10 ... then I'll sell or trade the extras here ...    And everybody is happy !!

There is a document on the FWC website that says exactly what GW model refers to what FWC unit.

As long as none of your tanks are armed with 'heavy bolters' but had  'heavy machineguns' instead I don't see how GW could argue the point.
