Odd but true.
I can remember reading a sci-fi book when I was at school (can't remember what it was called) which featured a feline alien species (can't remember their name either!), and a canine alien species called the Wawaka which were at war with each other. It was a cool book, as much as I can remember of it! 
Anyway, I hope that the designers of Exodus Wars do take the opportunity to come up with some types of aliens which other wargames haven't explored; and new types of units, getting away from Infatnry/Tanks/Warmachines - rather, alien equivalents of these. If that makes sense!
