All the new lists that came out today almost made me forget it was Wednesday. Anyway, something people have been expressing a want to talk about, deathstrikes. The ridiculousness of fielding a piece like this on-board aside... I think an indirect fire option would be fair. After all, firing a thing like that on the move just seems plain unsafe to me. And a 30cm minimum range is better than nothing. However, I have never used them. What is the main problem people have with them. Over-priced? Over-powered? Too damn ridiculous? Turning them into a spaceship has been mentioned as well, I'm not sure how well that would work though as it might require some special cases/rules. Thoughts? |

I would be fine with making them indirect. Whilst on the topic of deathstrikes I'd like to give them the option of either taking a deathstrike warhead or the barrage missile warhead from the AMTL. That would probably warrant a points change but would make them a bit more interesting. As far as their current rules, they are nasty. I've dropped a reaver or banelord with them in nearly every game. Use another formation to strip a few shield then in come the deathstrikes and boom. While its good for me, I do feel a bit bad at how easily I've wiped someones nicely painted titan off the board. If they were made indirect then it would "feel" right, but the ability to move and fire off the 40k version of a tac nuke on the run does make them a bit laughable. Would the missiles in the AMTL list need to be changes to indirect as well? |
