New week, two new topics.

What are people thoughts on the current standing of the Basilisk?  It has been mentioned that they don't stack up against the Manticore but I happen to think that issue lies with the pricing of the Manticore.

Given the new barrage point spread and the ability to fire the main gun indirectly, barrage or not, I think they are fine as is.

I'd keep these guys the same price, and up manticores slightly.

I think you want to keep them the same price and interchangeable, it's one of the nice things about the list is that you buy 9 artillery and then mix and match. I think the problem might be the manticores are too good. Basilisks are not as bad as bombards, you see them far more. I would lower the range of the manticore a bit and maybe give the bombard a bit more kick, but I don't know how I would do that.

Is it necessary to have a poll/debate over everything - the individual armylist reviews need to keep changes to the minimum. Changing only what is not working or over/under priced.

Change for changes sake needs to be avoided.

The Guard list is, I think in 99% of peoples opinion, one of the most balanced lists and therfore in need of the least changes. In most tourneys you see nearly every IG unit in effective lists.

Items that need changing -
Baneblades
some support for sentinels/rriders

Marauders

Titan weapon ranges

No it isn't necessary as some of the threads have shown.  But then we wouldn't have known that had the opportunity never been given.

The whole point of this was to work through the main review thread to gage what people thought of the list.  Some of the topics covered so far are very one sided, others aren't.  Collecting what people think about the topics can better help those in charge with their decisions on what should be looked at.  If anything they won't have to guess blindly as to what the consensus is as they'll have some empirical evidence to look at.

Everything else if your opinion, which again is one of the reasons why I'm doing this.

I think the Steel Legion polls have been quite interesting!

Thanks for posting them Dave!

and Deathstrikes

I would have thought that several years of playtesting, batreps and player input was a better guide to what needs changing

Let's allow them to make indirect AP4+/AT4+ fire (like Thudd gun).
Or let's lower their price (225pts ?)
Even if Basilisks are not bad, they are a step behind Manticores.

I know i'm new to this game...
but affter seeing what direct fire from cannon can do in real life, why not add the "macro weapon" only in direct fire to represent the power of the cannon?

I'd increase formation size for a basic reason, basilisks get killed off way too easily...
