So what style should each of the famous Imperial Guard Regiments have in Epic?

We have:
- Cadian Shock Troops
Elite Kasrkin and Whiteshields

- Valhallan Ice Warriors
Close Battle Order

- Tallarn Desert Raiders
Light Infantry

- Mordian Iron Guard
Highly disciplined

- Armageddon Steellegion
Mechanised Ifantry Companies

- Catachan Jungle Fighters
Guerilla Jungle warfare

- Death Korps of Krieg
Lots of Infantry, Siege and Trench warfare

- Vostroyan Firstborns
Elite Infantry

Agreed? Or have you different visions?

I ignored some of the other famous regiments listed in Codex:Imperial Guard such as Canak Skull Takers, Terraxguard, etc because they are only mentioned there and there where never models made for them.

Nah - Russians. Infantry, Mech, Armour and Artillery regiments - but all mimicking our mercurial friends.

- Tallarn Desert Raiders
Light Infantry

Nah, I would have thought either Lawerence of Arabia or the Arab Legions in the 40's.

- Mordian Iron Guard
Highly disciplined

Think British army pre Khaki.

- Catachan Jungle Fighters
Guerilla Jungle warfare

I would have thought generic 'Jungle/Deathworld fighters' and lump them together with Arm. Ork hunters. Indeed I did for a very neat list I never got to test enough to publish. The way round the inherent limitations was two fold. One was an ability for some of the infantry to be able to use cover saves when engaging, the other was GT specific ability to place one extra piece of screnary per 2x2 area of the table after terrain has been done but before objectives (giving 16 pieces in total on a 6x4 table).

- Vostroyan Firstborns
Elite Infantry

Who?

I would always add to the list the Jopall Indentured Squadrons as I use the 1st ed plastics for them. Infantry squads have lascannon as opposed to autocannon and this works well in an infantry heavy force with some armour support.

Valhallans: Really never read any much fluff about them other that they defended their homeworld against Orks.
Tallarns: Yes, i forgot to mention RoughRiders and Mumakil Riders.
Mordians: Yes.
Catachans: I like the Catachan list ins the vault. One time i will modify it for Armageddon Ork Hunters :D
Vostroyans: They where introduced as GW startet the MedusaV campaign.

The Vostroyans were a major release for Warhammer 40k last year.

Stylistically, they're a mess.

Actually, I'm really against "pigeon-holing" each of the famous IG regiments into a single "style" of list; it's specifically why I put together two Cadian lists for the "Black Crusade" supplement.

A Tallarn Tank Regiment might have a totally different organizational setup from the Minervans, and a Mordian Mech Infantry might be quite different than Steel Legions; I think those possibilities and differences should be explored, not limited.  As well, theatre of operations may have a radical effect on organization/availability of units/formations.

Sure but each of these regiments are famous for one specific way to operate.
And there is no rule which prevents one to, say, use the SteelLegion armylist to represent an Tallarn Mechanised Regiment, or Minervan armylist to represent a Cadian Tank Regiment, etc.
