Constructed from the stripped-out Armoured Company/Formation/Upgrade sections of the Death Korps of Krieg list, I present my Armoured Regiment list: Version 1.0 I expect there are plenty of Death Korps references left in the flavour text that will need removing if there's any liking for this list. |

I think a Company or Platoon needs to be made that is the Supreme Commander. The use of the phrase Regimental Command is not really apporiate in any of the list, as it is more likely a Battleforce Commander, probably a Battalion Commander. The Regimental Commander would be on a Levithan or similiar. I am unsure what the command company should consist of. In AI:3 The 12th Tallarn Tank Brigade HQ has 4 Chimeras with 44 personnel, 4 Salamander Command vehicles, and 3 Leman Russes. This would be 19 strong unit, which is 1 less than the Steel Legion Regimental HQ. Possibly sub in Salamander Scouts instead of the Command Vehicles, the Supreme Commander being one of the Infantry Stands. Tank Companys should be allowed to upgrade one Tank to Commander, which is actually a question about the Steel Legion list - is the Vanquisher Command Tank a Commander? |

The Regimental Commander would be on a Levithan or similiar. Isn't a Leviathan more of an Infantry / Mixed Regiment type of vehicle? A Tank Regiment probably wouldn't want to have to slow down all the time to allow the Leviathan to keep up? I kinda liked the idea of allowing any tank in the army to take the SC upgrade... as the SC just picks his personal tank and decides to ride around in it... seems like most WW2 Generals did something of the sort at some point. So you could have him in a Salamander Command Vehicle, or a Vanquisher Tank, or a Baneblade, or just a humble infantryman, etc. Vanquisher Command Tank a Commander? No, it's just a Squadron commander (With a little 'c'), and is not senior enough to issue orders to other Squadrons / Companies. |

I am just looking at the various charts in IAs. The 19th Krieg Armoured Regiment has a Leviathan as its Regimental HQ. The 12th Tallarn Armoured Regiment has a HQ Staff 194 personnel and 5 Salamander Command vehicles. So it varies from Regiment to Regiment. I do not see why it is not Senior enough to issue commands. The Infantry & Mech Inf Companies all have Commanders. |

Fair enough, how about: "One tank in each Company may be nominated as the Company Commander, and gains the Commander Special Rule as a result" And yes, that does mean you could have a Commander Baneblade. Or even a Commander Basilisk... ![]() As to the Leviathan... anyone have any decent (balanced) stats & points? EDIT: Destroyer Tank Hunter will recive an update in the next version to the Death Korps version stats. |

I am fine not having the Leviathan in the tourney list. Tourney games are more Battalion level than Regiment level. I think that a fixed unit for the Command would make sense, be it a Tank Company that has Supreme Commander or a mixed Company that has some Infantry, some Light Tanks, and some MBTs or a Mech Inf company. I think the Command option should only be for the Tank Companies. Artillery Companies would have a Salamander Command vehicle at least according to the two charts mentioned earlier. |

Yes, one tank in the Co. is the Co. Cmd Tank ... As should the Infantry Co. and Artillery Co./Bty ... |

(Hena @ Dec. 17 2006,07:55) QUOTE I'd probably remove the support platforms and put the regular Steel Legion artillery instead. Mainly as platforms aren't "tanky" ![]() And i'll check more on this once some units (medusa, LR destroyer etc) are hammered out in the Krieg list. According to IA1, both types (Stationary & self-propelled) are available to an Armoured Regiment. |

SP FA should be part of an AR Rgt ... An AR Rgt would generally have 2 Tanks Bns & 1 Mech Inf. Bn + and SP FA Bn and other attachments. We still use the SM1 TO&Es/OOBs/templates and FA was readily available to all IG formations. And it appears the current fluff supports that. Plus RL ! ![]() |

I quite like the idea of being able to pick where the SC goes... it allows you to theme your army without any huge imbalances... plus I expect everyone has different ideas as to where the SC should go (Depending on their favourite war probably!). |
