Aircraft gets hit by various Flak, downing a Thunderbolt.
Veterans fail to rally even though Supreme Reroll is used. All AdMech formations rally/regroup, but only the Reg HQ of the Catachans succeeds on their side.

Catachans have 0 goals, Ad Mech have Defend The Flag and They Shall Not Pass. This concludes the game as 0-2 for Ad Mech. Could have easily gone to fourth turn, had the Veterans rallied or the Onagers in Midfield been destroyed.

Personal conclusion:
I used Vassal engine to recreate the battle shots, as my photos of the real game were very, very blurry. Sorry for that.
I used the Ad Mech, while my adversary used the Catachans. He is usually using Tyranids and did some minor mistakes in failing to gauge distances/ranges for the Onagers. Overall I think the Ad Mech felt fairly balanced, I am a bit torn for the Onagers who faired very well in this game. 60cm MW4+ aint no joke, even on a fairly slow 20cm move unit. Maybe give them APT4+/AT4 Lance instead. And remove disrupt, as it only comes into play for the rare case that the targeted formation has Reinforced Armour, otherwise thee blastmarker is placed anyway. Feedback for my Catachans included some lackluster Veterans, who performed very bad, due to the fact that they are nearly guaranteed to catch a blast marker or two, upping their iniatitive roll to 3+. The Support Sentinels performed rather good, too, but made the formations fairly immobile as my opponent stayed out of line of sight and rained hell on me. I think both formations are pretty fairly priced for their effect they (can) have in a game. Especially on the Veterans are other options probably more worth it, or making a garrison more useful than their unique teleport ability. At least from my current point of view.

This puts me down another batrep from my group and is also a batrep for Nortos Explorator development :)

Hi!

Question: May a Sentinel Patrol with a Skytalon Upgrade garrison?

This is: The exception to the garrison possibility is for units or for formations?

Hi,

the intention was to reduce the amount of miniatures in the midfield. So yes, you can garrison them, as long as it's support sentinels bc those don't have scout and even when adding two Sky Talons, less than half the formation has scout

While your answer is clear already, Largo_W, i think he is talking about the No Garrison rule you copied from Eldar's, which nullifies the normal rules for formations eligible for garrisons.

He is asking if formations with extra units not listed on the No Garrison rule can still be garrisoned.

For example Eldar's rule wich you have copied for yours talks about units, so a Ranger formation in Alaitoc with Falcons for transport cannot garrison (which is the only case of this on netEA Eldar lists btw). Saim-Hann is the exception as it is changed to specifically talk about formations. Now that i am mentioning this, the last Alaitoc's subAC changed it so they could in the two last versions he made, but they never got approved. We should talk about that the next time changes for Eldar are put forward.

On the other side, you added ''- Added Sentinels to the formations which might garrison'' on the changelog and have written clearly now that you want the rule to apply to formations, so i think you should change the wording of the rule in the same way netEA Saim-Hann did to avoid further confusions.

And, by the way, it is intended that only one garrisoned formation can Overwatch as per ''Extended Naval Assets'' rules? I expected for this kind of list more than less, if changed. he rule is kind of strange as it begins talking about CAP but ends with garrisons and Overwatch. It also seems that the unit on CAP counts as Overwatch for the limit on formations on Overwatch.

It's fairly easy, I was refering to the formation "Vultures", "Sentinels" etc. while it was read as "units".

The CAP at start counts against your "only two garrisons in overwatch" as it is an overwatch order for aircraft. Mught rephrase that in 4.4.2, which only removes typos in the near future (no point or unit Changes)

I'll try to place here the battle report from las week. Lots of pictures, but i don't know if i'll remember every situation.

1st Turn
Catachan wins the Initiative.

As the Tyranid got lots of Zonatropes, I tried to start using the Ligthings there where the AA fire did not reach. Hierodules save everything.

Catachan retained initiative and activated the Brown Vultures. They shot the Hierodules. The saved everything again.

Tyranid First Activation were the Dominatrix Formation with a double.

... killing a Carnifex and a Warriors unit.

The Dominatrix shot the brown vultures and killed one.

Genestealers engage the brown vultures retaining initiative and destroyed them. That was totally unexpected for me... But it has sense. No markers, inspining and double number of units. I felt wrongly safe with those vultures because they couldn't touch me...

Second Ligthning Squadron, Hierodules saved all AGAIN.

Tyranids made a triple with Hierodules by their right flank.

Big Airborne Company made a double and shot to Hierodules. They saved everything AGAIN

Catachan retained again and made a Double with the small Airborne Company and shot. Guess what... EVERYTHING SAVED AGAIN. Those was maddening... At this point, Hierodules had saved about 20 wounds...

I don't remember the next Tyranid activation. All the Tyranid Formations where quite out of range so they all move doubles to get closer positions.

Next Catachan Activation were Green Ogryn Airborne Company. They Engage the Hierodules.

With all that support fire, I thought that combat will be very destructive... But... You know, they were the f***ing super indestructible Hierodules... They saved about 10 or 12 wounds more... Only 1 wound were made. Hierodules lost the combat and retreat.

Second Tyranid Swarm made a Double. No damages.

Brown Ogryn Airborne Company made a double and shot to the genestealers. Genestealers broke.

Before End Phase, some things ocurred with no pictures:
Thunderbolts made 1 cassualty to Lictors, last Lightning Squadron shot and do nothing to Hierodules (Yes...) and little else happened.

END PHASE
One of the Ligthing Squadron was shot down by dominatrix and another suffered a cassualty. Hierodules regenerated their wound and most of the tyranid blast markers were gone. Catachan kept some.

SECOND TURN

2nd turn starts with the Trygon's teleport. Catachan wons the initiative.

The first activation was the Airborne Regimental HQ. With a double, they positioned behind the Trygons and shot them.

Then, Catachan retained initiative and with the "small" Airborne Company shot the trygons again. This time Catachan got a great roll:

Trygons broke. But they don't move.

Tyranids try to engage with the Hierodules:

Brown Ogryn shot the genestealers and killed all but one.

Then Lictors assaulted the green Vulture Squadron.

They won the combat by 2.

Between the big Airborne Company and a Ligthing Squadron, at last, they killed one Hierodule and broke the formation.

The small Tyranid Swarn shot to the Brown Ogryn Airborne COmpany and killed one valkirie

The Thunderbolts shot the Lictors, killed some and broke them

I think i don't have any other picture from 2nd turn.

With less detail, in the 3rd turn, Trygons were killed by the Airborne Regimental HQ

The small Swarm shot to Brown Ogryn Company that was Defending the Blitz but dd almost nothing (but keep 2 of their markers).

Lictors tryed to engage with those Ogryns Defending the Blitz but failed the activation.

The lonely genestealer try to engage with the samall Airborne Company and died after killing the ogryn unit.

Some of the last actions were a doble with that small Airborne Company and shot to the Dominatrix Swarm.

Dominatrix Swarm charged against them and erased the hole formation.

The last activations, consisted in cause casualties on the small swarm to avoid it to control one of the markers form their table and one from enemy's table.

At last, Catachan won 2 (Defend To Flag and They Shall Not Pass) vs 0 (or may be Defend To Flag, i'm not sure):
