Hello,

I was just wondering if there was a particular reason for having the Ulani supreme commander part of his own 700 point formation rather than a 0-1 upgrade command tank for a regular 400 point tank company? It seems to seriously limit the activations available if you decide to go down the supreme commander route, but I get that this could be entirely deliberate and all part of the flavour of the list. Also the Reg HQ cannot take demolishers as part of its core units, I'm just curious as to the rational behind it.

I understand that the Epic UK lists are generally tested and discussed in a closed group unlike the NetEA ones, so apologies if this is out of place.

The idea behind this is that the Commanding Officer (SC) will gather a full formation of tanks to him, even to the detriment of other formations. Also this is to stop the spamming of small tank formations with one having a supreme commander.

Demolishers & SC - well they are more siege tanks so a SC wouldn't be using those

Seems to me its more that the Guard lists are built around the "deal" that in exchange for your amazing free commissars you have to put up with a comparatively restrictive list. Yes there are often loads of options but not many competitive ones. I'm inclined to use my guard as squats or skitarii in future for a change.

Makes perfect sense, cheers for the responses! It's a little less important for some of the formations anyway with the blitzkrieg rule, I'll try and put a list together that doesn't rely on the supreme commander.
