Can you choose not to shoot with an artillery unit withtin a firing formation? For example, in a manticore company of 9, could you shoot with 5 on the first turn, and then shoot with 4? If that is the case, Manticores seem like the best choice against Basilisks in every case, thanks to rupture. Thank you for your answer! A. |

yes and for the most part they are. it also plays tricks on supression (supress half the unit wont do much if you only want to fire half anyway, but it does make it hard to sustain on the next turn if you dont clear the BMs off) |

Surely, if the manticores cant shoot because they shot on the previous turn, they cant be used to soak suppression? Could you give me the rules confirmation of what you are saying, or is this just general consenssus? |

The only restrictions on suppresion are that the unit be in range and LOS, so even units that cannot shoot can soak suppression. Even expended Deathstrikes can be used for supression. |
