I find the costs for upgrades and support formations very cheap. As this list is now EA approved, there must be some reasoning to it, which would be? Examples: - arty company at 600pts, cheap transports, 6 russes for 280 pts (!), etc. More importantly, the arty company can have 9 (free!) trojan transports, bringing the unit count to 18, which is an awesome boost against shooting and breaking. I find it is the best artillery formation of the IG in all lists for that reason. Is that normal? Thank you in advance for your answers! LotM |

Remember it's not 6 Russes for 280. It's six thunderers. Each Leman Russ costs +20 pt, for a 400pt Platoon. As for the Artillery Company, the platforms are LV with a 6+ save, and therefore incredibly vulnerable to shooting. Adding the Emplacements means they get a 5+ cover save, or you can make them more mobile with the Trojans. With Trojans, you get more units, but not much better survivability, due to the 6+ saves. With Emplacemetns they increase in survivability, but are immobile. Of course Artillery shouldn't be moving much anyway, so that's not too bad a trade-off. |
