I'm just curious what to do with these three stormblades since they do not match the current form of the SHT that is pictured and talked about.. Why has nobody ever made a decent stat line for them.. At this point i don't know when i'm going to get to play Net Epic again so that i can use them since the player i used to play with has gone on near permanent hiatus.

Does anybody have any ideas?

The Minervan Tank list allows Stormblades (and Stormhammers, another old holdover), but doesn't incorporate the Missile Rack, as shown.

Or you can use "Counts As" to use them as an alternate WE type (Gorgons, Macharius). Or even as Shadowswords or Baneblades. Though not sure why you'ld take Baneblades. Now that I've properly looked at all five 'standard' hulls, it's sad that the BB ranks in equal fourth. Stormhammer does the Baneblade role better than a Baneblade, IMO.

Baneblades are better all rounders than Stormhammers, which are hampered by short range and relative lack of AT fire.

My understanding of the Stormblade missile racks was fluffwise they were found to be prone to accidental detonation, or something like that.

Krieg lists also use Stormblades. You can always house rule missile racks (2BP, 45cm, Indirect, one shot, for 25pts per SHT) if your opponent is willing. I am not sure what the original stats were for the previous editions. Makes them similar to the heavy mortars on the Gorgon Siege Transport. You could institute some sort of "fail on a 1" rule and not have a points increases. You would need to have the misfire cause damage to the tank. I don't think that, off-hand, it would be an overpowered addition. YMMV.

Well, from what i remember.. plasma blast gun, one las cannon, bolter sponsons, hunter killer missile(like a mini deathstrike on top of the plasma gun, and the four missile rack. i have the stats around here somewhere in my net epic folder. That and the main rule book has rules for it but i think it would be rather powerful.. even with the one shot from all the missiles. that would be 6bp plus a TK1 shot and of course 1 lascannon, and heavy bolter dice, and probably a 5+ in FF and 6 in CC. Its like a cross between the bane blade and stormshadow.. a specially designed sniper with some one trick ponies up its sleeve.

Yeah, I just don't see it. The only criteria the Baneblade excels at, is the single BC range. Stormhammer is a better assault participant, and puts out a fair amount more firepower inside 30cm (vs AT, 2.66 vs 2.00;vs AP, 3.33 vs 3.16, and best option mixed, 4.66 vs 3.86), and even more inside 45cm. If I'm going to have a SHT that gets a single shot at more than 45cm, I'll take the Shadowsword. In almost every other situation, I'll take a Stormhammer. Baneblades just do not do it for me. Which is a shame, as I've got like 15 of the blighters.

i like taking storm hammers in with a steel legion armored inf force. they work together rather well. bane blades are for taking a bit more of a back seat but can still get the job done.

And personally, if your gonna sit back with baneblades and try to snipe i would prefer stormblades or shadow swords.. A bane blade is a middle range fighter while a storm hammer is well.. up in your face and letting you know just how the regiment feels about you..
