Has anyone else read this? I ‘found’ a copy online recently and it looks cool - there’s nice nice artwork of 3 current style warlord titans bombarding a cityscape and also some for the very old epic dropship which is apparently named a Tetrarch Heavy Lander. One of the campaigns indludes a massed assault on a Blood Pact held world by 130 titans while another one has a massed drop assault on an adminastratum retirement planet which had rebelled, where the guard regiments don’t have any drop equipment but jump out of special low orbit carriers and float down an anti-gravity cone projected down from the carrier, though the process is apparently rather risky. Makes me wonder whether there could be potential for an epic drop version of the guard list using planetfalling infantry backed up by Tetrarch landers. |

Looks decent though I've got a couple of copies of the original epic one already. |

A planetfalling guard list could be fun, very starship troopers. |

Their freefall descent is many times slower than other planetfalling units and "extremely risky". Apparently if a vulnerable carrier makes even a slight movement during the drop the cone can swing out of position and all that drop be lost. Perhaps roll a dice before deploying each dropping formation, on a 2+ they're fine, on a 1 they're dead? Could also allow any enemy ground AA to make a free AA attack at any formation deploying in range on the way down? Both would make them worse and necessitate dropping points a bit. |

You could always adopt the teleport rule of BM within the planetfall, yet you also lose the unit as well as gaining the BM. I think this is far more sensible and workable than losing the whole formation on a roll of a single '1'. It would also be easier to cost - as in add a unit or two depending on actual unit sizes to account for average loss - hence no changes in points costs. |

The problem with the slow descent gets into the same issue they appear to have had with Dreadclaws - 1 turn dropping that could be shot at? At an Epic scale, is it really needed? I think the idea I gave above would be representative enough of a bungled drop - as in "shit! look how many '1's' I rolled!" |
