I want a 2nd army to go along with my ordo hereticus army,and since i started epic for guard(but never got round to starting one  ),i kinda want a stormtrooper regiment,so was thinking about using the elysian list.Has anyone got any better ideas??? cheers matt |

If you are open to the idea in a similar vein, you could always go with the Ork Commando List

The Elysians are "jump troops", not really Storm Troopers in the Imperial Guard sense, so they're coming in on grav-chutes and Valkyries... if you want an "Airborne" list, Elysians are the choice. The Cadian list allows for a lot of Kasrkin, which are, essentially, Storm Troopers and you'll get tanks and other ground toys as well; it's more of an elite infantry/ground pounder list. |

Where can i find the ork list??? is it the cadian interior list cos it looks ok!!! cheers matt |

mattausten86 wrote: i kinda want a stormtrooper regiment It's not really a stormtrooper regiment per se, but the local IG player likes to use a fairly infantry-heavy force with multiple trooper formations in mutual support as a maneuver/assault element. He is convinced Trooper formations need to be in pairs because they are much less effective without the mutual support. The core is: Infantry + fire support and Russ Company - a wall of fire for the troopers to maneuver off 2x Stormtroopers in Valks That's 1700 for just the first 4 formations, but by the time you add some Sentinels and Tbolts, the activation count is back in a reasonable range. You would have support slots to add in 2 more Trooper formations, as well, so you could go with something like... Infantry + Fire support Russ Company 4x Troopers in Valks Sentinels Shadowsword Tbolts Tbolts 3000 points. 10 activations, most of which are decently hard. 4 Trooper formations. |
