“BL’s showroom/chop-shop”
I need to run this by BL first but…..There are a lot of bits of Imperial kit released through Forgeworld etc which are likely to never (any time soon) find a place in a list. There is a demand for the stats though for friendly games and BL seems to be happy to do a straight conversion from 40k to EA as a get you be solution? I’m thinking this will be a locked and stickied thread which I will let BL update. A list of the vehicles done and the page they are on would be good as the first post; this can also be edited with updates.

And that too! Any suggestions where i should start with? I did have a thread with the new units for the latest Codex Imperial Guard and super-heavies.

"True list"? All lists are "true" except a) the rulebook Steel Legion list which is actually a "generic" Imperial Guard list and b) that ALL lists refer to Platoon sized Infantry formations as Companies.

For the Imperial Guard units i will open a new thread. I will state in which book and page the relevant unit can be found in Wh40k material.

I have started. The first posting in the Imperial Guard thread is a WIP. I will edit in the relevant information tomorrow i hope.

Congratulations Sir and looking forward to working with you. I am in the process of updating the Elysian list to IA8 standards. I hope to have the first cut posted in the next few days.

Cheers,

The companies could be of diminished strength, which is covered and allowed in 40k, but it doesn't say that :-(

Actually, it does, just not in the IG rules section.

In the "writing rules" section of the rulebook Jervis notes that IG "companies" represent a force that has been fighting for some time. He goes on to say that a green company might be twice the size with Initiative 3+, and a veteran company might be only half the size, but with Initiative 1+.

Actually a green Company would be 2 x to 6 x the size as eaxch Company has aminimum of 2 Platoons and a maximum of 6 Platoons. Look at page 89 of the rulebook for reference.
So this dominished rulebook Companies would consist of
1 x Command HQ
2 x Platoon-Command Section
one with 2 x Infantry Squads and one with 3 x Infantry Squads
Thats 13 Epic units.

Considering the maximum strgenth of an Infantry Platoon of exactly 13 Epic units (1 Commander and 6 Squads with 2 Epic units each) and the strength of an Infantry Company of minimum 11 units to maximum of 79 units the size of a full-strength Platoon matches the best.

BL, thats the minimum size of a formed company - think of the short of stalingrad like casualties 40k formations take and a regiment of 250 men is perfectly plausible!
Well, Epic wise, the current company is 13 stands - thats a max of 91 men. You can add in another short platoon of 6 stands - 42 men - (4 squads and a command section I guess) and a heavy weapons platoon of 12 weapon teams (3 on each of those SG models). So without specialists like snipers you are still able to have a company of 157 all ranks. Add in Chimera and it would be another 24? 36? (how many crew does a chimera have?) men.

Great stuff. Just remember, anything you don't feel you can get in to a list of standard size and 2-5k balance BL can look after.

Agreed. I won't be including all the bits and bobs of the list, shooting more for a list that adheres to the flavor.

I got all the edits done last night and shot it off to my "publisher" who will be converting to pdf. So hopefully today or at worst tomorrow for the review copy.

Cheers,
