Latest Version:

Version 1.10

1.09 changes:

- Death Riders go to Armour 5+
- White Scars Reference Sheet added.
- A couple of minor modifications to the White Scars army list occurred so as to synch up with the Epic.Uk list version.

1.10 changes:

Mossinian Rough Riders go to Armour 5+ (Could change back to standard Rough Rider stats?)
Added Front Cover Art.
Fixed some typos.

Essential to-do list:

- Proof-reading.
- Fix Mossinian Rebels army list balance.
- Playtest the Death Korps some more.
- Print it.  :))

Potential to-do list:

- Datafaxes and unit description texts for all White Scars units (That'd set back the book a month. I'm not sure it's nessesary as they're only tangental to the story).
- New infantry painting guide from Farseer.
- Add Titan datafaxes and unit descriptions.

If you do gown down the route of delaying the book a month to flesh out the White Scars - and I have no particular opinion either way - would you like me to possibly convert and paint you a larger and more detailed model for a Deathstrike Silo?

All the versions of Deathstrike Missiles on the weapon platforms or the Warmonger have been much bigger than the little missiles in that bunker and I doubt the Death Korps would have access to just as powerful but much miniaturised versions somehow. Just seems it might be cool to have a nicely converted and more appropriately sized model, even if you did want to keep the easy proxy for the main list and just keep it for the painting/showcase section. It's on my 'to convert at some point' list for my own Krieg army anyway so I'd just be bringing it forward.

Just an idea I thought I'd throw at you anyway, your call. If so there's really no way I'd be able to get it to you sooner than around 3-4 weeks though - I have critically overdue essays I need to sort in the meantime if I'm ever to complete my Masters.

If you have it done in time I see no reason not to include it in the miniatures showcase section ; I'd like to keep the 'easy proxy' for the army list section though.

What are these modifications? Remember that this should be a worldwide usable document. Not only for EpicUK tournaments.

Leave 1:3 core support ratio but add aircraft into support. The balances aircraft and prevents the list being a headache for anyone actually wanting to use it (how many stands of infantry do I need!?)

Worth thinking about.

Reduce all initiatives to 3 up, but allow one third of points worth of formations to upgrade to 2 up. 1:3, rebel core/PDF : conscripts/rable. This will make a quite unique list with many options.

Sounds interesting, if done easily (Don't want to overcomplicate the game).

Leave the aircraft the same points but make the formations huge (6 fighters 300pts)! A few BM will effectively remove them from the game. It also fits in with WW1 aircraft tactics/warfare. This point alone might actually balance the list?

Also sounds cool.

I need to do more testing, we can chat at OW.

Brilliant.

IIRC there were two changes (Terminators must take Land Raiders, and cheaper Land Raiders), neither of which I disagreed with.

Other than my previous work with the White Scars list (Which was almost the same), there has been no NetERC White Scars list to compare it to...

First glance-

Supplement looks amazing - superior to official efforts

DKoK - are the characters really that good in CC, especially the SC who is equivalent to a terminator?

Formation sizes/FF increase - how has testing gone with these? the increased size would seem to mean assaults are the only way to really break them, but with a normal IG Co you would try and limit the attacks back by getting into CC so IG are on 6s rather than 5s.This isn't valid with the DKoK FF so it seems a lot more difficult.

I'm going to be dropping the HQ back to the standard 4+ I think.

Thanks!

Most of the credit goes to people who are not me.  :))

They are extremely vulnerable to clipping engagements due to being so unwieldy, whilst if they engage the enemy on their terms they tend to drown them in a wave of bodies and win (But then, 20 units of anything would tend to do that!).

I thought clipping would be the way to go but wondered if the initial +3 (double outnumbering+inspiring) and the ability to have trenchworks would mitigate this

Considering you're talking a about a 450/550pt formation by that point, they should indeed be tough to take on... a HQ company in trenchworks on Overwatch makes a good Blitz guard formation.

There are the NetEA TourneyMods but they don't touch the Land Raiders cost.

Land Raiders where allways mandatory for White Scars Terminators. They where included in the points cost. So no Teleport for White Scars Terminator sbecause they allways have those expensive Land Raiders.

Oh and i see that when using DorpPods not the entire army which have the option to exange their transports vor DropPods has to use them but only Tactical Detachments?

And you added Walke to the White Scars Attack Bike.

In my list they weren't mandatory for a while.

Only Tactical detachments are eligable to use Drop Pods...

And you added Walke to the White Scars Attack Bike.

Aye, it is a sensible change, no?

Ah now i see why you changed the transport rule.
After the rules review Scouts are excluded from using DropPods alltogether and White Scars don't have Devastators (well by fluff they have but not in this list). And while Terminators can`t use DropPods too only Tactical Detachments remain for using them.  :D

But still no teleporting Terminators for White Scars but at least the are now cheaper which is good.  :agree:

Interesting is that the 2008Errata says:
White Scar Detachments: Add the Hunter
to the upgrades for the Land Raider,
Predator and Vindicator detachments.

But the White Scars don`t have this Detachments and the Predators already have acsess to Hunters
