Latest version:

Version 1.07

1.07 Changes:

- Cosmetics.

TODO:

- Do a new infantry painting guide (I think Farseer is doing one).
- Finish taking Death Korps photos.
- Finish obtaining Mossinian photos.

What do you think of the new watermark guys?
I need to find a second watermark to use in the Mossinian sections of the book (Can't have the Death Korps guy there!).

The project's end is in sight now, printed copies aren't far away!

Looks pretty.

In the white scar transport section you allow scouts to use drop pods. Is this your intention or a typo?

Good catch!

That's a hangover from the old Marine list.

Excellent!  It looks WAY better now. :agree:

As for the second watermark you could try taking a portion of one of the other pictures and just using that (ex. take the top right quarter of the trench picture).  The watermarking will smooth out any loss of resolution in the gray-scaling I would think.

On the White Scars list, the words "Imperial Navy Aircraft" and "Titan Legions Battlegroups" still should be centered within their respective boxes to make them consistent with the rest of the boxes.

Some of the spacing between the DKOK datafax boxes and the next block of text seems a bit too tight.  If the layout is as tight as it was with Raiders then you may not be able to avoid it, but if you can, try to create more space between the datafax box and the text that DOESN'T belong to it (the text below it- does that make sense?).

I have some print-prep instructions coming to you via PM.

I noticed that noit a few of the pictures looks very pixelated. Will the ready-to-print version be 300dpi? This would get rid of the pixels.

Andf for consistency i would put an "OR" between the line for the 2 x Vanquishers and the Vulcan Megabolter of the Macharius Command Tank(same as Space Marine Dreadnoughts).

The Mossinian Commander has Reinforced Armour and Walker? :D

And the stat line on the Mossinian Stormhammers Heavy Stubbers (?) is superimposed by some specialabillities ()nfiltrator, Scout,Mounted, etc)

Mossinian Commanders have Reinforced Armour and Walker, should that just be Commander?

I caught a couple other things (Commissar datasheet and Ringleader sheet differ, Ogryns missing a Small Arms weapon), did you want another proof read?

Yep, this version is only 144dpi so as not to burden my webspace too much, the final print version will be 300dpi.

Thanks for the typo catches lads!

Certainly!

Any typos or oversights should be corrected now rather than post-printing!  :))

We'll be going to print in a few weeks, so before then...  :))

Thanks for coming back to the proofreading Dave!

In the intro:

"If you know your history (And if not, then go educate
yourself and come back later!), then if the Siege of Mossino is
World War One, then the Mossinian Rebels are the Germans
with their superior defensive positions, while the Death Korps
of Krieg are the siegebreaking British, with a more offensive
ethos."

Hmm.... I'm not sure that characterization makes that much sense to me -- it's not clear that there was really much of a tech difference on the Western Front, in general.  The main differentiation was between a side on the tactical offensive against a side with the luxury of standing on the tactical defensive.

You might get away with the comparison by specifying 1917 British (with their newly introduced tanks).

The difference on the Western Front wasn't much one of technology, but of ethos/approach to trench warfare. I'm wasn't really referring to technology when I wrote that line.

'course, I'm allowed to be wrong. :)

The difference on the Western Front wasn't much one of technology, but of ethos. It's a broad characterisation true, but one that's mostly accurate IMHO.

You're probably best off talking about the West Front 1916-1917... -- Liege, Marne, Verdun, and the Kaiserschlacht complicate the comparison on both sides. This particularly  given that the 'learn some history' challenge is just inviting for return-snarkage.

BTW, how well do you think Epic does at playing out Verdun?

There's only one way to find out... and that involves lots of miniatures and some dice!  :))
