I like Bombards as a Company upgrade!

Despite it being "light infantry", I feel it should have a Rough Rider Company option in there as well.

Aye I thought it'd be fun to try out with this list.

Hmmm, I've been going off of the TOE given in Imperial Armour III, but that's only one particular regiment, perhaps some Tallarn Regiments would have rough rider companies...

It'll go in as of the next list version.

You've given the rough riders a 4+ save, presumably to represent Mukali? Wouldn't it make sense to have mukali as a seperate unit, given that Tallarns also use horse mounted rough riders a lot?

Also, don't we have more than enough guard lists now?

Enough is never enough.  It's like asking if you have enough sprinkles on your chocolate sundae.  A Tallarn list would be good fun.  Although I agree Mukali should be separate and distinct units.

Fair enough.

I'll include a 'normal' rough rider stat, but without the Extra Attack. :)

Looks good :)
But would re-name the Leman Russ Platoon to Leman Russ Squadron. Only Infantry is organised in Paltoons. Perhabs scrap the Leman Russ formation alltogether and only allow the Leman Russ Squadron as upgrade?

I definately would include generic Roug Riders in addition to the Mukali Rough Riders. Thats would be two different formations. Another option would be to allow Mukali Rough Riders als upgrade to an Infantry Company.

For your interest. The Tallarn Desert Raider Doctrines are:

- Priests (new Character Upgrade wth sam rules as Commissars but which bestowes only Inspiring?)
- Hardened Fighters (higher WeaponSkill for infantry and CC-gear for Sentrinels)
- Rough Rider Squadrons
- Light Infantry (instead of a Heavy Weapon can have a Sniper Rifle, Infiltration and can better move through difficult terrain)
- Sharpshooters (re-rolls of ones on the to-hit roll)

So they can't have: Engineseers, Sanctioned Psykers, Stormtroopers, Ratling Snipers, Ogryns, Special Weapon Squads, Conscripts and Fire Support Platoons.

I can't view the list but really want to use it not only for tallarns but for other light infantry regiments such as the Zouvan Skirmishers or the Vorgarn Light Infantry.  Some ideas:
1)All basic infantry units have a sniper instead of  autocannon.
2)Light infantry Infantry units may use their countercharge move to move away from the enemy if they wish.
3)Priests - inspiring and +1 EA
4)Sharpshooters - When making a sustained fire action may reroll 1's to hit
5) Hardened Fighters - Basic Infantry have cc 5+ instead of 6+
6)cannot take Ogryns, firesupport platoons, Superheavy tanks

I seem to have deleted the only copy from my webspace by accident.

Oops. :)

I admit I haven't viewed the list - buuuut, if it doesn't get the Tallarn pattern Leman Russ I'll cry.
What is this you ask? Why only one of the niftyist and yet simple to make conversions. And whats more its startlingly reminiscent of a British tank employed in the desert (no prizes for guessing which all terrain beasty).
Get a ragnarock hull and a Leman Russ turret (you could use the open one but I prefer to convert those to twin autocannon flak beasts).
Place the turret on the hull.
Stand back and admire! It has the 40k look combined with a proper low profile (compared to the Rag).
Its great, L4 came up with the idea ages back.
Whats more an infantry list (which I hope the List has a fair element of) can always do with move 15 (walker for the sand dunes) garrisoning 4+RA battlecannon (I don't fit secondary weapons on, but you could I guess with some huffing and puffing, maybe just one 50 cal (i.e. Heavy Stubber) like an Abrams).
