Hi guys!

My last game with Minervans was with the following list:

1.Tank company
+Hydra
+SC
+Salamander Command
--------------------
800

2. Tank company
+Hydra
+Samander Command
--------------------
700

Support:
1. SHT
------
200

2. SHT
------
200

Stormtroopers+ valkyries
------------------------
350

Infantry Platoon + Salamander
-----------------------------
325

Warhound
--------
275

Thunderbolts
------------
150

My problem was to get a decent activation count while including 2 LR Companies. With only 2 Support slots/core I HAVE to take a Warhound OR 2 additional T-Bolt Sqads to get at least 8 activations at 3k.( and I really think the Minervans should at least have a chance to operate without Titans and Navy) I think this is very overrestricted, especially if I look at the costs of the Minervans core choices. No army list has core choices which are at least 500+ pts AND only 2 support slots. And 3 core companies are the only way to get more IG activations without using Warhounds, but then I am forced to take a SHT-company to save me up 125pts. The list is fun to play, but it is hell in their choices.

I think we are overrestricting the list. I WANT to take more IG units but is not possible, at least not with 2 support/core

What do you think?

Soren

I find the Minervan list very restrictive as well, but I love bringing tons of aircraft and this is a good excuse to do so.

I've never attempted to  take 2 Russ Companies though, that would certainly be too many for me.

I'm using this list atm:

SHT Company (3 stormhammers, SC, commissar, salamander)
SHT Company (3 shadowswords, commissar, salamander)

Tank Platoon (5 Demolishers, Executioner, commissar)
Tank Platoon (5 Russes, Executioner, commissar)
Mech Infantry (10 infantry, 5 chimeras, commissar)
Vultures (4 Vultures, commissar)

Thunderbolts
Thunderbolts
Thunderbolts

So I feel the pain of having too few activations. I think getting 3 Support slots would likely make them too good, too versatile, but they could certainly use another Core formation, likely Mechanized Infantry.

Could you please explain why they would be too good with 3 support formations?

Their unit cost really much points and I do not want to be forced to get a SHt only to archieve a decent activation count.
