We're six days into the month. So what are the IG lists we should now be playtesting, so that at the end of the month TacComms can say 'this one's balanced', or 'this one can try again next time'? |

I can get lots of lists playtested, but I think that it's clear that we have all the lists we're going to see this month now ; It doesn't seem like there's much point developing variant lists all month if noone's going to playtest them... we'll talk a lot, but we won't get the month's task done I'd like to see the Champion pick 5 lists, and then we can all go playtest the snot out of them. |

I'd like to see the following play tested: Steel Legion (minimal "tournement" changes) Steel Legion (NETEA changes) - We should also think about renaming it to something else so we don't confuse new players. Jouran Dragoons maybe? They are mechanized. Minervans (with any of the changes that might carry over) The variant lists are nice but I don't think we should be focusing on them in this month. |

I'd like to see the following 5 lists recieve playtesting and vetting by the end of the month: Minimal Tournament Changes / NetERC Steel Legion (Minimal list doesn't actually need to be playtested IMHO since most of us have been using the NetERC Steel Legion list a year or more now). 1 - Revised Siegemasters. 2 - Minervan Tank Legion (It's been playtested a fair ammount, but not enourmously so) 3 - Death Korps of Krieg 4 - Elysian Drop Troopers (May need an entirely new list as the current one is overpowered) 5 - Cadians (Specifically Chroma's Cadian Defense Force, as I don't see a pressing need to test the Cadian Mechanised list when the Steel Legion already provides that... perhaps for next time). Those are the five that I'd like to see vetted by the community by the end of the month.... contingent on what TRC / the NetERC actually expects from this month of course. Each of the lists above provides something concrete and unique: 1 - More balanced Steel Legion 2 - A tank-based army list 3 - Medium-tech siege list, is very very popular with the 40k crowd. 4 - An aircav list, again enjoys a big reputation. 5 - Cadians are the iconic guardsmen on 40k, and it's a shame that they don't have a vetted list yet. I don't think 5 lists is an unreasonable target to aim for this month, especially with my list 1 / 1a being so heavily playtested already. |

(Dave @ Jun. 06 2008,17:58) QUOTE I'd like to see the following play tested: Steel Legion (minimal "tournement" changes) I believe the "minimal tournament changes" are based on all the playing and testing that have gone on since the Steel Legion was released, I don't see a point in testing that portion further. If testing the Steel Legion, I'd recommend playtesting the more "extreme" change list. |

Yes. The Minimal Tournament Changes / NetERC Steel Legion don't need further playtesting. |

I strongly doubt the changes to the core list need testing. Otherwise I suspect people will test what they are enthusiastic for. I'll be doing my siegers and motor brigade (the latter at the tourni as well). Death Korps would be a good one as its already fairly pretty (though very very very very very very hard to get models for). Minervan legion I'm simply hoping is balanced since its already published. Reports can build up over time as it isn't going to be re-written any time soon. Oh the rest I'd love to see a decent Cadian list, as its 'the' epic 40k army and catachins and drop troops, possibly because another company makes troops for them ![]() So thats me (already heavily tested siege list, maybe E&C it can morph into your mossinino guys? and motor brigade because i want to have fun testing for once). Everyone else Decent Death Corps Decent Cadian (infantry) Decent Catachin (infantry again! - shouldn't be too complex numbers of units wise) Decent Elysian Drop Troopers - Note there should be the old proposed IG WE lander in this otherwise I feel the list isn't 'Epic' enough. Maybe also Abbots heavy transports. And everyone Pray the tank list is balanced ![]() |

And if you have a spare game try bl's steel legion which if gets to a good state in his thread could balance very easily. |

Otherwise I suspect people will test what they are enthusiastic for. I assure you that'd I'd follow your request if you singled out a few lists for scrutiny. So thats me (already heavily tested siege list, maybe E&C it can morph into your mossinino guys? See my reply in the other thread. Pray the tank list is balanced I've finally gotten a Minervan opponent in my area and have started playing my own games against it (Rather than just relying on playtest reports (Yo Soren!) ), and have found it balanced so far... ![]() It's just sunk in that a list I wrote just got printed... I'm still stunned by the scope of Raiders to be honest! |
