So it seems it was planed to incorporate the Capitol Imperialis and the Lebviathan in one datasheed. So it's essentially one War Engine with two different names.

But what stats should we use? And what name should it have? Jervis seems to like the name Capitol Imperials (as i do too) but in recent Fluff (Codex Eye of Terror, WD fluff about Armageddon) the Leviathan only is mentioned.

The experimental Capitol Imperialis Stats by Jervis are as following:

0-1 CI: 500 pt.
CAPITOL IMPERIALIS (Armageddon Pattern)
<<< The Capitol Imperialis is an immensely well protected mobile HQ. It is usually garrisoned by own its own company of Imperial Guard troops. Void shields, thick armour and sturdy construction make it resistant to enemy fire, while the garrison and dozens of internal and external defence systems make it very difficult to assault.

Type Speed Armour Close Combat Firefight
War Engine 10cm 4+ 6+  5+

Weapons: 1 Behemoth Cannon (F), 1 Battlecannon (LF), 1 Battlecannon (RF), numerous automated defence systems (ADS)

Weapon Range Firepower
ADS (15cm) Close Combat Weapons and/or Small Arms, first strike
Behemoth Cannon75cm 6 BPs, Indirect Fire
Battle Cannon 75cm AP4+/AT4+

Notes: Supreme Commander. Damage Capacity 10. 5 void shields.
Transport (may carry 3 Chimera or Salamanders, and up to twenty of the following units: Imperial Guard units: Supreme Commander, Commander, Infantry, Storm Troopers, Fire Support, Snipers, Ogryns, Sentinels). Up to ten transported stands may shoot with ranged weapons or use their firefight or close combat values in an assault.
Reinforced Armour. Thick rear armour. Immune to panic.
Critical Damage: Internal explosions cause an extra point of damage and inflict hits on D6 transported units (attacker's choice as to who is hit).

My experimental Levathan stats are as the following:

0-1 Leviathan: 500 pt
Imperial Guard Leviathan Command Centre (Mars Pattern)

Type Speed Armour Close Combat Firefight
War Engine 15cm 4+ 3+ 3+

Weapon Range Firepower Notes
Doomsday Cannon 120cm 3BP Macro-weapon, Fixed Forward Arc
Battle Cannon 75cm AP4+/AT4+ -
6 x Twin Lascannon 45cm AT4+ -

Damage Capacity 4. 2 Void Shields. Critical Hit Effect: The Leviathans tracks are destroyed. It may not move any more. Subsequent critical hits cause an extra point of damage.

Notes: Reinforced Armour, Supreme Commander, Thick Rear Armour, Transport (may carry 20 of the following units: Imperial Guard units: Supreme Commander, Commander, Infantry, Stormtroopers, Fire Support, Snipers, Conscripts, Ogryns. Ogryns take up two spaces each).

I like Jervis's Cap Imp stats - your Leviathan looks a bit to easy to kill. I can't help thinking a slab sided lump of metal bigger than a Titan should be tougher than DC4 - especially given the DC levels of big Ork machinery.

I also don't like the 3+ CC;  FF, maybe, but not CC.

The speed issue is a bit tougher  - I can see why a huge tracked vehicle should only move 10cm, but a huge Transport should really move 15cm. I guess it's a question of whether this thing is a battlefield transport, or a mobile HQ.
If it's meant as an HQ, which Supreme Commander suggests, Then I'd stick with 10cm. After all, even at 10cm, March orders on a road will get you a long way in one turn.

As for the name, I don't mind either way!

Regards,
Reaver

JJ's stats work for me since call CI a CI and stat it as a CI ... not a Lev ... IMO ... :D

The problem is that the Capitol Imperialis was never again mentioned in recent fluff. Only the Leviathan is.

True ... But I have models of both ...     And since we kind of write our own rules, with the recent release of "Raiders", etc. ... I'd use different stats ... Plus we know they don't mention the CI ... because that's just another model they won't make.  That's true for the Lev as well. So I guess they are trying to placate Boyz with a Lev or CI or both ? ???  I have stats CI from the old AMTL list which works for me ... :D  Well as usual - DWWFY  ! :;):

So. Should they remain with two different stats or combined into one?
Because Jervis CI is supposed to be Armageddon Pattern perhabs i will inculde it with this stats in my Steel Legion PDF instead of the Leviathan.
Concept clearly is a mobile HQ. Some kind of fortress with tracks and its own infantry bodyguard as separate formation.

I say go with Leviathan for your list, for a bunch of reasons.

I don't own either, but I find the Leviathan more appropriate, both from a rarity POV and from a scratchbuild POV.

Kickass scratchbuilt. I only find the Doomsday's barrel a bit to long :)

Well on Cadia the Cadians fought against the Triator Volscani who are describet as having several Leviathans. There even is a double sided Picture of the 8th Cadia fighting on the Tyroc Fields against the Volscani but the background only shows some gigantic imperial Transport Spacecraft, a Warlord Titan and some Valkyries/Vultures.
Then there is apicture of Ursarkar E. Creed on the same battlefield but still in the background yopu only can see a Warlord Titan.

Looked up the Leviathans stats in Epic40k. Here it has the same DC and void shields as a Reaver Titan.
So because people claim that for 500pts my vision of the Leviathan is too easy to destroy how about giving it 6DC and 4 void shields?
