So after completing a job application, going to noodle time and Greenwich park what to do? How about kicking off a pet project of mine, namely to have stats, a painted picture and the parts for each of the Imperial vehicles. So first off an easy one, the Basilisk.

Current tank
The current model, the Armageddon pattern, is 20cm move, AV 5+ save, FF5+/CC6+, heavy bolter and earthshaker.

Then we have the Mars pattern. Maybe controversially I would go for, 25cm move, AV 6+ save, FF5+/CC6+, heavy bolter and earthshaker. The higher speed as some sort of compensation for the lower save. Justified?

No comment yet until I find my box of basilisk, however this is surely a non forge world built Bassie as its a horrible model :) Hell, it probably has a 90cm arty piece!
Right, found it.
Yes I hate this model.
Move 20cm, AV6+, CC6+/FF6+, heavy stubber, pdf earthshaker (90cm, 1bp, indirect).
Definatively a PDF vehicle, secondary weapon a heavy stubber.
Text something like. Common mechanised artilery piece made by Imperial worlds. Most designs incorporate an awkward armoured turret holding a heavy stubber or light autocannon for use in pdf police actions. The lack of direct fire and advanced targeting (what does the Imperium call computers?) limits performance compared to the more advanced Mars pattern Earthshaker, though it remains well within pdf requirements.

Finally the first. The model of mystery as how did the recoiling barrel not hit those two shells? Stats wise I'm going to go get my box, but the supporting gun looks no bigger than a heavy stubber, maybe it shouldn't even be that (just a small arms weapon?).

Move 25cm, AV6+, FF6+, CC6+, heavy stubber, earthshaker.

Common pre heresy artillery piece. During the heresy it was common for the heavy stubber to be removed for use by infantry units and the Basilisk to be pressed into service as an assault gun. It was in this role that it fought its most famous action in a counter attack at the terra gate thingy, with the *insert* bombardment regiment sacrificng itself to temporarily throw back the chaos horde.
Still produced by Mars and selected forge worlds the 'insert pattern' pattern Basilisk is typically used by honour guard or ceremonial regiments.

Actually this is exactly what I expected from you Chris... I know this is one of your favourite subjects. :)

I don't really see the need for differentiated stats here, but I agree that +5cm in exchange for -1 armour save is a pretty reasonable bonus after applying such a harsh downgrade (A 50% cut in survivability against AT weapons).

I would give all of the non-Armageddon models the same stats, because none of the are completely enclosed. So, I could see them having a save of 6+, instead of 5+, and a bump in the speed could be justified to keep the cost the same.

I like the idea, a collection of model stats for friendly games is a good idea.

I'd say yes to the 6+ armour and no to the 25cm move.  The Manticore and Bombard still have a 20cm move with a 6+ save.
