Because of Henas post in the Tyranid forum: He stated, that Tank legion is too broken to even field it (hope I have got it right) Strongly related to de demolisher change. I would like to read the reasons for this, summarized in this topic for discussion. Also some crrection proposals for the list will be fine to spare E&C some work  |

I do agree, having ignore cover on the Demolisher cannon as well as Macro-Weapon has broken the list. If it were only Macro-Weapon, I think it would have been okay. As it is, one specific build of the list (Spamming Thunderers) looks to be broken. |

*shrug* we already have non wysiwig models. This is a very minor one. (Yes I recognise not everyone has constructed Ryza pattern Leman Russ and mars pattern demolisher's!) If that brings it back into balance tis a small price to pay. |

I have 9 Demolishers here. None of them will loose the Plasma Weapon due list issues.

In v1.6 of list you have both Tank Companies and Tank Platoons plus Tank Squadrons as upgrade. Why not make a simple change that Companies are restricted to standard LR plus optional Vanquisher (as per SL army list). Then LR variants can only be taken as additional Tank Squadrons as upgrade or as 6 strong Tank Platoons. That would keep the emphasis on vanilla LR as workhorse with specialist LR variants used for specialist tasks. Also keeps army list shorter and simpler. Cheers James |

Mhm. Last wednesday I tried a tank platoon consisting of 6 Conquerors. They did what they were supposed to do, harrassing the enemy if he is silly enough not to ignore them. My Blood Angels enemy was quite inexperienced so it was easy to stall his flank with them. Will not function against more experienced counterparts. I see no other fuction than acting as fast Conqueror unit, and with these task you will not mix with other tanks due speed issues. Further, if you restrict the Tank companies to the Steel legion company composition, the list really looses the last reason to play it. Then Steel legion will be simpier and we should bury the Minervan list. Even expensive, there should be the opportunity to include some rare tanks. I think this is the main reason behind using the list. Second issue. Nobody...read my lips,  nobody will buy the Tank squad if he wants to get over 6 activations and get a reasonable fighting force. With upgrades and squad the company will cost nearly over 900 points, and this only to include 1 or 2 rares. I can?t see an argument to justify this. my 0,002 cent Soren |
