Had a friend come over to watch some Metalocalypse and play some EPIC.  Told him to pick whatever army he liked and he decided to go with the Imperial Crusade list I'd submitted for the EPIC army competition.

I'd already selected a Lost and the Damned army, as I hadn't fielded them in a long time.

Let's see if the Imperials can cure an infection of Nurgle's Rot!

Imperial Crusade chose edge deployment.

Deployment:

Imperial Crusade kept the Terminators in reserve.

Lost and the Damned kept Plague Zombies in reserve.

Lost and the Damned garrisoned Coven 3 and the Defilers on overwatch.

Turn 1

Imperial Crusade allows Cultists to decide to teleport first? they decline and there are no teleports.

Strategy roll: Imperial Crusade

The Bombards sustain fire with everything on Coven 3, talking out 1 Mutant and 1 Big Mutant.

The Defilers return fire, sustaining on Armoured Fist 1 and Devastators 1.  Three Guardsmen are struck down and the Marine lose a Rhino.

Devastators 2 doubles forward into a building and fires at the Defilers, taking one out.

The Assault Detachment follows, doing the same, and breaking the spidery Chaos machines!

The Plague Tower doubles forward down the road and fires on Devastator Detachment 2 to little effect.

Devastators 1 marshals, repositioning themselves, losing a Rhino on the way, and clears all their Blast markers.

Coven 1 summons 4 Plaguebearers and then doubles up to shoot at Devastator 2? to no effect.

Armoured Fist 2 doubles to fire on Coven 1, placing a single Blast marker.

Coven 2 doubles forward, revving their Chimeras and fires on the Assault Marines, but the hearty warriors are unaffected.

Armoured Fist 1 double and fires on Coven 2, taking out 2 Mutants.

Coven 3 drops overwatch to double up and fire on Armoured Fist 1, but causes no damage.

The Command HQ doubles up to fire on Coven 3 and takes out a Big Mutant.

Coven 4 marches forward onto the central hill.

The traitor Thunderbolts move in to ground attack the Assault Marines, taking out 1 Land Speeder?


End of Turn:

One traitor Thunderbolt is shot down as they fly back to base.

Armoured Fist 1 and the Defilers both fail to rally.

Turn 2

The Plague Zombies erupt out of the ground near the Bombards.

While the Terminators appear to help Devastator Detachment 2? and get a Blast marker for their trouble!


Strategy roll: Lost and the Damned

Coven 3 summons 4 Plaguebearers and, despite strong Imperial support, engages Armoured Fist 1.  

Father Nurgle protects and the might of the combined might of the Imperium? kills 2 Mutants (Oh how my opponent despised all the 3+ saves in Coven 3!)  Once the clouds of flies dissipate, only the Imperial Commander and his Chimera survive to flee!


The Plague Tower sustains fire, blasting the Terminators and Devastators 2 with foul goop.  One Terminator is downed and 1 Devastator and 1 Rhino are also rendered inoperative.

The Bombards quickly march away from the nearby Plague Zombies.

Armoured Fist 2 needs the stern words of the Supreme Commander to engage Coven 2.  The Imperials only lose 3 Chimeras and their massed firepower takes out 3 Cultists, 1 Mutant, and support fire cuts down 2 more Cultists, a Hellhound, and another Chimera!  The overwhelming rout trashes three more Chimeras and a Mutant as the Imperials are victorious.


Coven 1 calls forth the Great Unclean One and a Daemonic Beast and advances.  The Greater Daemon vomits on the Terminators, breaking them and causing them to fallback to Devastators 1 position, and Devastators 2? doing nothing but disgusting them.

The Command HQ, slightly shaken, but still determined, engage Coven 3? but only take out 1 Big Mutant.  The forces of Chaos take out 1 Storm Trooper and 2 Chimeras? winning by "1" and taking out another Chimera.  (3+ SAVES!  3+ SAVES! 3+ SAVES!)


The Assault Marines double over the Cathedral to pursue Coven 2 and grab the Cult Blitz? and the cultists abandon another Chimera.

Coven 4 doubles over the hill to fire ineffectively on Devastators 1.

Devastators 2 marshals, firing on Coven 1 and then clearing all but one Blast marker.

The single Chaos Thunderbolt takes a long looping path to hit Armoured Fist 1, scoring no hits, but causing the Chimera crew to bail.

Devastators 1 sustains fire on Coven 3? and splatters a Plaguebearer.

Denied their prey, the Plague Zombies march towards the broken Terminators?

End of Turn:

The last traitor Thunderbolt is knocked from the sky.

Armoured Fist 1 fails to rally.

The Defilers and Coven 3 fail to rally.

No teleports.

Strategy roll: Imperial Crusade

The Assault Detachment engages Coven 2 and wipes it out with no Imperial casualties and secures the Cult Blitz.


The Bombards then sustain fire on Coven 4, blasting apart 9 Cultists and breaking them instantly.

The Plague Zombies engage the intermingled Devastators 1 and Terminators? and are all shot in the head and put down? *dang*


Coven 1 then shows them how it's done as they engage the intermingled Devastators 2 and Armoured Fist 2.  The Great Unclean One suffers 1DC damage? while the Marines are wiped out and four Infantry and the Commander survive to flee the carnage.

[Camera died about here, so no more shots and no "End of Turn" picture]

The Terminators sustain fire on Coven 3, but do no damage.

Devastators 1 then engages Coven 3 in a firefight, taking out 1 Mutant and 1 Big Mutant while losing the Librarian's squad and the Hunter? the Marines win by "1" and all the daemons fade away?

The Plague Tower double back towards the Assault Detachment, but can't get close enough to contest the Cult Blitz and only manages to kill a single Assault Marine.

The Command HQ engages Coven 4 and wipes it out?

End of Turn:

The lone survivor of Armoured Fist 1 finally rallies!

The Defilers, again, fail to rally!

Imperial Crusade: 2 (Blitz, BTS) vs Lost and the Damned: 0 (none)
