They seem to be regarded as a little inferior.

Change their armour from 6+ to 5+  ?

I voted yes because in 40k it has an identical armour profile to a Basilisk.

Upping the armor save makes sense to me since the Bombard and Basilisk are supposed to be on the same chassis.

The poll from before had "no change" win pretty substantially.

I didn't list an armour change specifically however.  But seeing as it's an open loading mechanizing I don't think 5+ would be accurate compared to the Maticore for instance.  Where the Armageddon pattern Basilisk is a closed crew compartment for loading.

You know, I was thinking of previous editions of the Basilisk which had an open gun. The current mini does warrant a higher armor save than the Bombard.

At the risk of change for change sake ill agree with the proposed change.  I am beginning to wonder about the current unit by unit  approach to tweaking the guard- it would be really good to start having a compiled change list that would allow us to see the proposed changes as a whole.

I know this is what Markonz is doing with the handbook, but it would be useful to do prior to inclusion in a more final form.

No opinion either way, but if pressed, perhaps leave alone rather than "change for the sake of change".

Main concern is the 'arms' creep that is generally going on.

cool, thanks both Hena and Markconz.  I reckon that will be the place  to really consider which changes to keep etc.

This isn't to pick on E&C.  This was just a convenient post to springboard off of.

I think there's a problem with continuing to poll and poll and re-poll and then poll some more.  Results in repeats have consistently gotten more extreme with respect to the extent of changes.  That's not a universal by any means but it definitely seems to be a strong trend.

If pressed to explain that I might offer up the idea that the people that don't want changes will lose interest and stop participating.   "No changes" is inherently a less motivating position.

Those familiar with some group dynamics psychology will note the "group think" phenomenon.  Committees actually tend to be more radical than individuals, despite the fact that it's counter-intuitive.  Ideas and possible solutions get more and more extreme as discussion continues until you end up with completely idiotic ideas.  You get a feedback loop where the perception of doubt leads to additional proposals which aren't accepted, which leads to more perception of doubt and more proposals, until you've proposed all the reasonable ideas and only really goofy stuff is left.

But regardless of the reasons for the phenomenon of shifting poll results, I'm doubtful that it is really reflective of the broader, non-Epicomms-posting Epic community.  I think we should be taking all the polls with a large grain of "poll until I get the answer I want" salt.

I do think it's worth noting that the other Bombard poll didn't have 'change the armour save' as one of its tickboxes.

Do results in these polls get more extreme over time?

Yeah in one or two cases. Others have either remained the same. Here, I just wanted more votes because 10 votes is not enough, and saying *bump* is boring. :)

An important consideration, if you theory of the moderates dropping out is true, are recent polls having fewer contributors?

Plus, Bombard, identical in stats to a Manticore, costs the same, yet is much shorter ranged, and swaps Disrupt for Ignore cover (Abilities roughly equal in power?).

Obviously imbalance. :D

You say that a lot.  :D
