I hope the Tank Company gets changed. I think it's the great newbie trap of Epic - "Oh cool, I can field 20 russes! look at these cool formations I painted up!"

"...what do you mean I wasted all that cash and time on stuff I don't want to use..."

I'll take 'em. My SL force org [always] has room for a couple more companies. But from a competative standpoint they aren't optimal as is. Hella fun though.

Agreed! I've seen it happen myself and felt sorry for them as they performed really badly.

Oh, I don't know. Russes could use the bump, but they really aren't as bad as everyone makes out. They do take a different playstyle than other IG units, more aggressive and rapierlike than defensive and clublike.

I don´t field my 2 Leman Russ companies at the same time very often, when I do I struggle, but having so much armor on the table is worth the effort.

Leman Russ companies, bad o.O?

We ARE taling about the horde of dirt cheap 4+reinforced omg I can't even kill One of them things, bristling with battle cannons and demolishers and whatnot?

I really must be doing something bloody wrong here; so far, they've always weathered whatever I threw at them, and punched holes in anything even remotely close.

Check the tournament records; in general, armies with russ companies lose most of their games, and the few wins they do achieve tend to be small victories.

I really don't think they're as bad as people make out, they just suffer in the EpicUK tournaments thanks to the metagame obsession with activations.

RichardL won Open war with a Russ Co. The problem is more peoples fixation with having every option just as good as each other.

Yes to drops in upgrade costs, no to Co cost reductions

Which is definitely overempahised on TC

Personally I think the artillery company cost is something that should be looked at before russ.

Rug already noted they're going to come down.

One example of a good performing Russ army doesn't trump the hard stats that show them with a strong losing trend, implying that they are indeed possibly an over-costed option and could stand some *testing* at a lower cost, IMO.

The Steel legions best way of playing should be with mechanised infantry - it steel legion not generic IG. But it is perfectly possible to play and be successful with Russ its just not quite as good. If you want to have the best chance with a Russ based list take one of the Tanks lists
