Of course losing fearless and giving them NOTHING back would be a good tool to bring the list down a notch.  There are plenty of descriptions in Epic that don't necessarily have to translate into a special rule.  Necron warriors are literally fearless, yet the datafax doesn't reflect that.  Space Marines are arguably incapable of experiencing fear, yet they aren't fearless either.

yeah lose fearless, in fluff terms they don't execute their men to make them stay like commissars so maybe their close supporters drag them off when it really hits the fan.

Current thoughts for the next Mossinian list version:

- Increase Hellhound speed to 20cm (This is actually a downgrade as they'll no longer garrison)

- Increase Fighter Squadron cost to 200 points.

- Fixed forward arc on fighter weapons.

- Possibly increase Bomber armour to 5+

- Remove Fearless from the Preachers

- Possibly up Preachers to one per 300pts.



Thoughts?

Why are the Hellhounds stats different from regular?

Because of the old OOP model looking slower / more armoured.

What is actually the theme of the Mossinians? Game-related, not background-related.

I have no objections to Rug's reasoning...

...I'd still like the Fighter Squadron to go up by 50pts as I can see them making excellent interceptors.

Rug, you're saying Baran access to Shadowswords offsets Mossinian access to three support formations per core, better armoured Bombards and Hellhounds (these can now garrison as well), access to more "support weapon" options, access to Ogryn, access to full Sniper formations, and larger aircraft formations.

Because, "access to Shadowswords (and Baneblades)" is the only thing that Barans have that Mossinians don't have... how can the Mossinian list be *worse* than Barans if it's got so many more options?  That just doesn't make *any* sense to me!

If Mossinians are "not as good as Barans", why would you use their army list and not just "counts as" with the Barans list?

Removing fearless would make this the only list in Epic not to have access to the ability.


And what's wrong with that?

The Mossinian Hell Hound has Armour 3+!  It's the best basic armour of any tank in the game!  Sure it only has 15cm, but that means it can garrison.  And the upgrade for three is cheaper than the "normal" upgrade.

Well, they did until the last interation... and I'm not sure the rationale for having them as a large upgrade instead of an independent formation.
