Perhaps reduce the Sniper Upgrade to just 2 Sniper units for +50 points?

Seems ok to me.

Rug?

Hoping to get a game in with these guys tomorrow, and another question has come up:

Why are the Thudd Guns, Rapier Laser Destroyers, and Heavy Mortars "mounted infantry?  That means Bunkers and Trenches are dangerous terrain for them and they *can't* get cover saves from terrain other than Gun Emplacements... and that they can go over Razorwire without difficulty!

2.1.10 Mounted
Some infantry units are noted as being mounted, and will
either ride on bikes or living creatures such as horses.
Mounted units count as vehicles for terrain effects, and as
infantry units for all other purposes.

What's the intent here?

To follow the precedent established in Swordwind ; Light support guns are Mounted, presumably to represent the difficulty in handling them in a battlefield situation.

Has there been an alternate printing/errata of Swordwind that I'm not aware of?  As the copy in my hands has neither the Rapier nor the Thudd Gun listed as mounted...

Have you been testing with the field guns as mounted and not getting cover saves?

Pretty much!

I always left them outside the trenches so they didn't cripple themselves when I went over the top! :D

I wonder how on earth that error could have crept in.

No idea... *laugh*

Additionally, is the "may not fire from wihtin Bunkers" necessary?  It's only in the reference sheets, so I'm not sure if it's supposed to be in Notes or not.

I'd suggest removing it, as it's not a limitation on the Siegemasters' weapons, and there could easily be "hatches" or even roof placement for Mortars/Thudd Guns in Bunkers.

I suggested removing that restriction a while ago; it adds very little.

I think it (May not fire from within bunkers) was something TRC added ; I'll remove it.

It was an early feature of sieger being tested (were you around then Ben?).
Yes I stuck in the thudd gun thing, I think though I later took it out and lived with them being 5% better than rapiers in a the standard siege list.
