There's one this weekend.

I can definitely see the point that Terminators in Land Raiders are just not as good as Terminators teleporting.

It's doubtful they'll ever use their MW attacks, and they can't teleport somewhere annoying during the game.

Oh those White Scars and their silly fondness for riding vehicles. :)

Suggested changes were discussed, agreed, play tested, discussed and voted on. No decision was that of one person.

I strongly dislike some of the 'lack of changes' that the EpicUK group has done through either timidity or apathy, but I do consider their White Scars list to be good ... I'm going to an EpicUK tournament this weekend, and will raise several issues with them in person.

Good luck with that! I am of a similar school of thought on EpicUK and their lists myself too, though I'm not going to let it affect my starting going to Epic tournaments later in the year (need to get an army painted first and it's not even all put together yet).

I wrote out most of a longer and more critical post about the lost opportunities so far of EpicUK's closed-minded 'completely closed right the way through till release' policy, as well as some other negative comments on the way they have handled and communicated themselves ...but in the end I deleted it, not because I don't believe it to be true, but I don't want to go through that can of worms again.

Hey if EpicUK don't provide answers good enough to placate my fearsome inquiries then I could just invent Epic-E&C and make up my own list.  :))

I think the different opinions in price/value of Terminators + Land Raiders combo mainly comes down to the style of the list their in and options in each list which alters their worth.

In the Codex Marine or Scions list taking Terminators + Land Raiders is done by choice,so it can complement other choices in the army designed by a player. This combo is worth more to an army that is designed to use firepower as it's main threat rather than fast maneuver and engagement.

I find the points value each list sets on the formation is right (or near enough) even though each list has them different. To me this is mainly due to other options allowed in each list for Terminators that makes them more or less flexible depending on the list their in.

Codex Marine List (EpicUK) :-
 Terminators are 350 plus Land Raiders upgrade + 300 = 650
This list has the Terminators as a Highly flexible formation.
As well as Garrison (not with LR's) and set up normally they can Teleport,Air assault/Ground Attack in a T/Hawk or in a Landing Craft. They also have other upgrades available (Dreadnaught,Vindicator and commander) to make them more flexible or tailored to a players own style.

Scions of Iron List (Henas) :-
Terminators are 325 (350 with teleport) plus Land Raiders upgrade +350 = 675
Terminators are very flexible in this list (maybe not quite as much as the codex list but not far behind).
These too can Garrison, set up normally Air Assault/Ground Attack in a Landing Craft but instead of using a T/hawk they can Air Assault/Ground Attack in a T/Hawk Transporter if Crusaders are taken. These also have Helios as upgrades as well as Land Raiders,Crusaders and commanders to make the formation more flexible or tailored to a players own style.

White Scars List (Epic UK) :-
Terminators are 600 points (Land Raiders are not optional they have to be taken, possible to leave them behind to teleport or go in T/hawk but still cost 600 points if that is done).
No flexibility at all in the selection except a commander is allowed.
These cannot Garrison but can set up normally, they can Air Assault/Ground Attack in a Landing Craft no other deployment is available. No other upgrade options are available for a player to tailor the formation or to add flexibility.

As I see it each list has the points right for them in their own lists .
When valuing a formation I take into account what each list gives a formation in Upgrades, deployment options etc. as well as the other formation choices also allowed in each list to compliment each other.

The internet really needs a font called 'Irony'.

So can I have some arguments on why it needs to be 600?

The White Scars have always had the formation at 50 points less than the codex list so with that now being 650 the WS dropped to 600.

The Terminator/Land Raider formation is not as effective in a WS army as it is in a Codex or Scions army.
The remainder of the options in the WS (other than Predators) do not complement that formation.
The other lists have more options to complement that sort of formation if it is chosen so it becomes a better or more valuable formation/choice to them.

PS I'm not a member of the Epic UK but have had a lot of test games against their committee members.
