I opened a thread in the past which adressed some changes to Hellstrikemissiles :)
After all they are only krakmissiles (AT6+)with extended arange in Wh40k.

Here it is: http://www.tacticalwargames.net/cgi-bin....;t=9981

Still overpowered?

Vultures - yes IMO, esp with the ERC garrisoning rule on top.

Deathstrikes  - yes even with the Indirect fire mod.

Manticores are obviously better than Basilisks thanks to suppression rules - and then they have disrupt...

Not sure what you're referring to with "thanks to suppression rules", but we've started seeing Basilisks as "assault guns" and using them for direct AP4+/AT4+ fire instead of for barrages; it's still in the early stage, but they seem interesting!

The scenario here is like 9 Manticores vs. 9 Basilisks:
The first one can fire alternatively 8 and 10 BP, that is already better than 9 BP every turn (ok, Basilisk have direct fire, but Manticore has disrupt)

Then, if the formation has say 4 blast markers, the Basilisk one is reduced to 5 BP but Manticore formation is not affected as the "reloading" ones can be suppressed! Still 8/10...

I'm probably going to change it to d6-1 Sanction Psykers since they wouldn't always be available.

Set them at a fixed ratio to points, otherwise you end up with the same situation as Commissars in the core rulebook. Making them rare (1 per 1500pts) would be fine.

There was a suggestion on the SG boards to significantly reduce the range of IG artillery (to 75/90cm IIRC) to which I would add Vulture @75cm, both because of OW and also because they can fail an activation and still take out an enemy formation on the baseline.

Reducing Deathstrike to indirect softens then a little but at 200points they are still a "no-brainer",  even though they do tend to acquire 'protective' formations around them which absorb further points.

Why 3 Thunderbolts for 250? Would stick to the normal style 2 for 150.

The "2 Thunderbolts" for the Steel Legion list is "low" because it represents the depleted air assets the Imperials had to deal with during the battle.

Army lists in other "theatres" shouldn't have to deal with the same limitation.

This list has same problem that the Ulthwe has. It has 1 better strategy. And it has free MW small arms attacks (sanctioned psykers).

Well, it's still in early stages, so it needs work and tuning... *laugh*
Edit: And Karskins have initiative of 1+, they aren't that much better than regular stormtroopers, are they?
Well, they are supposed to be battle hardened, veteran troops, "the best of the best", in a Cadian army at least.  Again, it's all up for testing and changing.
You've given quite much bonuses to the offensive list. Only larger removals that I can see are Tank companies. And the Russes are 7 strong in support formations.
Well, they've got no Super-Heavy Companies, no Rough Riders, no Ogryn, and no large arty formations, so those are all limitations from Steel Legion.

The 7-strong Russ Company represents two 3-tank platoons and a command tank, though this could easily be reduced to just 6 tanks and no Vanquisher upgrade.

As well, the "Shock Troops" list has to take Mech Inf to get any other "goodies"... some might find that an unpalatable choice, but I feel that's that a Cadian 'attacking' force would have as its backbone.

You think that Deathstrike Missiles are too powerful? you should face a battery of those squat supercannons!

Anyway, there is one thing i would have done the other way around: when using fightabommers, it's a must to target a formation with both infantry and vehicle units. If not you will be wasting half your attacks!

Generally, yes, that's the way to use them... but seeing a target of eight infantry buttoned-up in four 5+ armour AVs was very tempting... if only the Orks' had hit!  *laugh*

:D

You know, in one of those battles i won(Second Battle of Fraggit Beach), i sent 6 fightabommas to attack a very big formation of squat berserkers packed in their 4+ Sv transports. I killed two of them and two of the infantry they carried. And maybe that was the key of the battle: unwilling to leave those two berserker stands behind, the formation lost it's mobility, and it took them almost half the battle to reach my lines, thus enabling me to annhilate the rest of the squat army in the mean time.
