:vD Yeah, I noticed the T35 was used mainly for parades as a posturing prop but saw action because the Russians were losing more tanks than they could readily replace so I guess anything with armour and a gun got chucked into the mix...

Anyway, back on track... haha?.. sorry. Is anyone thinking of coming up with these variants for Epic? Not official models but made by other very talented people on site?

Just seen these for the first time. Agree with the comments a lot of them seem very similar and that they're quite ugly models, especially that Stormlord.

Personally I'd prefer those talented people spent their time more on FW tanks and missing units and not feel the need to make every minor varient - just how many superheavies on that chasis design do we really need?

Plus they've over-gunned again and are not particularly aesthetically pleasing models, though they're not quite as bad as that dire Ironclad Dreadnought seen about, GW really are getting much more blatant about their new things having to bigger and shootier than before for sales purposes and the look/style/background of the models suffers as a result.

Sorry Nicodemus, I'd have to have some fairly thick beer goggles on to see that pug nosed monstrosity as attractive... However, I do believe there is an ugly lassie for each and every one of us at some point in our lives so anything can happen. :sus:

I like the idea of the Stormlord but I think it's not very practical. If it fires it's slower so bad for troop deployment and if it doesn't fire what's the point of all the shooty stuff. SM2 Gorgon comparative?

Disagree on the Ironclad Dreadnought, it seems to not be that far off, considering the design goal probably was "design as mean looking a Dreadnought as possible". If anything, I'd complain about it looking too hi-tech but eh, it's meant for urban warfare and they had to improve SOMETHING to get that AV13.

Maybe reason I like Stormlord is that it does not look like any "real" tank. And in universe they shoot each other with depleted deuterium (you know, gas) and ride along in tanks that make Mark IV look slender and low profiled (Land Raider), it is just good thing to look like no real tank. :)

Actually to make Stormlord even better would be to take of those lascannons, they are sticking out too much. Then it would look even more like turtle.

Maybe I `acquire` one of those to my orks as looted Stormlord. That is because I dont do IG and my Marines wont touch IG stuff. But my orks are not as selective.

I actually quite like the Stormlord, even if it seems to unnecessarily replicate the role of the Baneblade.

Stormlord... The Stormlord is armed with a Vulcan mega-bolter giving it unparalleled anti-infantry firepower. This coupled with a large transport capacity makes it popular with commanders who favour mobility over traditional static formations. ...could see that combo for sure.
A heavy assault tank carrying a platoon stormtroopers.

One of the big problems with the T28 is that it had the armor of an M13/40 and a crew of 10.  If you're going to build a self-propelled coffin, it is best to build it small.

Much better off with a crew of 4 in a T34, and six fellows with PPSHs riding on top.

The thing the Soviets couldn't spare was literate soldiers who could operate a tank.

Arguably, it was a problem for the B-17 as well... though we thought we had A-1 draftees to spare.

Is it just me, or do the shadowsword and Banesword look identical.  As do the banehammer and storm hammer.

I have also had my first look at a Stormlord and I am disappointed with its VMB.  It is less than half the size of a titan class VMD.

The Banesword has an other gun. It lacks the energy-muzzle.

Same for Banehammer and Stormhammer. The cupola is positioned different also.

All in one picture...

I think it's missing the Stormblade (or whatever its name is--the one with the mega plasmacannon thing on it).  :))

. . . and the "Banseword" has three aerials where the "Shadowsword" only has one. Besides one is in green cammo while the other is obviously grey. Vastly different even to the untrained eye  :p

Nice Pic !!   The Stormblade is the one with the Plasma Cannon, F/W makes it in Epic scales along with the Shadowsword and Stormsword ... But you guys knew that !  8v)  I didn't know about the Stormlord ... so it's a heavy assault vehicle with it's troop carrying capability ?    Ã‚                                                                                 And if you are talking about big crew heavy AFVs ... don't forget the German WWI A7V with a crew of 18 !   :sus:    But in reality Super Heavy AFVs became just big targets with the advent of effective CAS. And most likely a maintance nightmare ! The WWII German Maus and E-100 if they were actually fielded in numbers (I think 1 or 2 Maus actually left the factory ?!), when they weren't breaking down, they'd be pummeled with CAS.  Even my "beloved" Slammer 170 ton M2 GEV Tank would have been meat on the table for CAS, if Drake had not wisely incorperated the AI guided 20mm tri-barrels ... That not only could shoot down aircraft but FA rounds !  :oo:    :vD
