Eighter you make it fixed or random. This between solutions are simply crap. We sticked them 1 every 500 to get the random factor out, now you want bring it back again?

Sorry, but don?t waste your time with such senseless polls. Please concentrate on the real issues concerning many armies. If you want to do polls, do it on themes really neccessary.  ???

Simply waste of time, but only my 0,0002 cents.

Soren

1 per 500 is fine.

I believe most French players (those of the epic_fr forum, at least) play that way and are satisfied with it. I certainly like it as I don't like really randomness (and yet I play a dice game, I know...  :p ).

1 per 500pts.
That makes a lot for high levels games, but the lists are built for GT scenarios (2000-5000pts) and 1 commissar per 500pts works fine in 2000-5000pts games.

Soren:  Please note that I included an apology for duplicating old discussion in the thread title.

I'm putting together a consolidated and comprehensive set of changes.  In order to do that, I'm going to have to recap some issues so that I can familiarize myself with them before including them in the change docs.

By my own admission, I am not into IG.  I don't normally follow the discussions closely.  In fact, the only times I pay close attention are when Francois is involved in discussions (or when I've been directly asked for my opinion).  That's mainly because I thought that I would have to eventually vote thumbs up or thumbs down on his proposals as part of the ERC.

I don't consider this thread/poll senseless or a waste of time.  Instead, I believe it would be wasteful to create a document that would not enjoy broad support due to my ignorance of prevailing opinion.

1/500 has been working fine here in Perth as well.  It is much easier to play WYSIWYG when there is a fixed ratio as players can paint/model units appropriately when they make the list rather than confusion over what formations do and don't contain commissars during the game or the need for all sorts of extra stands.

Sigh, 1 per 450 was so neat for difference between 2700 and 3000 point games!

To diferentiate it "could" be 1 + 1 per full 500 points.

This would still give 6 at 2700 and 7 at 3000,thats if a change is needed.

I do like the 2700 value as being 'tougher' than 3000, and bizarrely often 20-30 minutes faster to play. However living in a decimalised society I think most people work in the tousands for Epic, so the number of fans for 2700 is dying :(

I like the sound of either this or simple 1 per 500 points.

It is easier to work out your arny list in advance so that you can model placement of commisars & be 100% WYSIWYG.

Cheers

James
