Oh and I really like the look of the stormhammer as close support super heavy.
Maybe gone a bit far with the background justification. I'm just picturing the crew of the stormhammer sneaking around the armoury at night grabbing whatever they can carry and and running off.
There would be some set of guidlines from the administratum regarding getting damaged tanks back into action under extreme circumstances. It is the imperium after all. There are bound to be rules about breaking the rules!
