Given the decision in this thread:
http://www.tacticalwargames.net/cgi-bin....d217819

I'm going with the following in the handbook - which is likely as official as people will get for a very long time:

Type/ Speed/ Save/ CC/ FF
War Engine/ 15cm/ 4+/ 6+/ 4+
Weapon/ Range/ Firepower/ Notes
Baneblades Battlecannon/ 75cm/ AP3+ AT3+
Co-axial Autocannon/ 45cm/ AP5+ AT6+
2 x Twin Heavy Bolter/  30cm/ AP4+/ Left/Right Arc
2 x Lascannon/ 45cm/ AT5+/ Left/Right Arc
Twin Heavy Bolter/ 30cm/ AP4+/ Fixed Forwards
Demolisher/ 30cm/ MW4+/ Fixed Forwards, Ignore Cover

Notes: Damage Capacity (3). Reinforced Armour. Critical = magazine explosion, destroyed, units within 5cm hit on 6+

Note: I would probably prefer to leave off the extra 2 HB (the SG model doesn't have them) but I think most people will be buying FW models as they are a much better deal, and I don't think the marginal extra AP is much of a balance issue given how underpowered it was.

Separate issue is that LR Demolishers will need tweaking too.

That's why I think it'd be useful if Blarg would run his damage potential calculator over the Leman Russ Demolisher.

That seems like a bit of a large boost in firepower.  Just eyeballing it that looks closer to a 40% jump in firepower than the 20% I ballparked above.  (Just thumbnailing it - +30% on the battlecannon, +75% on the demolisher, TLHBs for probably +30% on the auxiliary weapons).

Still, that should be within 10% or so, which is a decent point to start playtesting.

MW creep is indeed a problem (especially with new lists) and affects some armies (marines) more than others.

You cannot imagine how I hate to play against all these lists with more MW's than regular ones in.  ???  My Marines getting toasted by them in so regular base that I often forget to make a save even when I?m allowed to. Every new MW will make this worse, so you will get no positive opinion to any attempt giving a list more MW, even if it is the Core Marine list.

Hmm i see only 2 lists with plenty of MW: Orks and Eldar. But even SM can swamp you with LandSpeeders.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't Feral Orks have an inordinate amount of MWs?

The swordwind lists in general have problems. :)

I am for the above stats as a playtesting starter.

TAU are getting a punch of them. With markerlights they are going to be really nasty. (Missile type, Crisis, Aircraft)

Unfortunalely Orks and Eldar are lists most popular to players in my region :;):

LatD are getting a punch of MW if the player likes to do so, but they are not a MUST in this list.

I don?t want to whine about the amount of MW in play, but I want the list-designers and army Champions here to remember that MW-style weapons have a really strong impact on some armies and even on the whole style EA is played. This should be taken in count when sprinkle new weapon stats.

I do think all these fire arcs for relatively weak weapons (heavy bolters as opposed to volcano cannon for heavens sake!) are far too fiddly and just unnessecery. Plus will we then be going over other SHT's like the shadowsword and making them fire arc dependant? (indeed should we make the shadowsword FW WYSIWYG - I think no, but if you think the tanks are getting to good, do this, balance them and up the company cost.)

Making the Shadowsword WYSIWYG doesn't really change it all that much right? Can't say as I'd object.

2x Heavy Bolters changes to 2x Twin Heavy Bolters.

Anyone ever use those? :)
