How CC6+? The same as a squad? A few men whose effectiveness is a more zero artillary piece have no mobility, a squad can move around, they abandon their post, gun spiked.

Check out al the old siegemaster arguements for why immobile crewed weapons get 0 CC.

Ah but these are crewed by Death Korps Infantry, who have +1 CC due to their CC-orientated nature in their 40k rules. :D

Two crewmen! :D

I concede that point :) And surely it would be three crewmen looking at the forge world pictures?

While Krieg have been known to use Atomic weapons, their use of chemical weapons is unknown.

The WWI theme would certainly support the idea, as would their love of gas masks... but I won't write this in until I get confirmation one way or the other.

I'll try digging up some info.

A WWI-style 'drifting gas cloud / template' could be interesting I admit...

Perhaps add to the Heavy Support Battery an option like "Or three Phoenix Support Platforms" then later on something like this:

Phoenix Support Platform
Unique to Krieg these platforms are modified Manticores. The usual large high-explosive missiles are replaced by missiles loaded with powerful lethal poison and acid. On detonating the liquid payload is spread into the air, the forces of Krieg call it Fire Vapor as it sears the skin and lungs like flames. Saturating the area around the missile impact sites in potently lethal gas. Excellent for rooting lightly-armored enemies hidden in defensible trenches or dense woods. The large quantities of the liquid however consumes a good deal of the missile's space, increasing its weight as well, as a result the missiles have significantly shorter range then normal Manticores.

Phoenix Support Platform
Type: LV. Move: 0 cm. Armor: 6+. Close Combat: 6+. Fire Fight: 5+.
Weapon: Phoenix Launcher. Range: 90 cm. Firepower: 2 BP. Special Rules: Slow Firing, Disrupt, Ignore Cover, Indirect Fire.

I think that'd do a reasonable job representing a cloud of poisoned gas mixed with acids. Very good at destroying lightly armored or unarmored opponents like other IG or Orks who are in heavy cover. I cut the range back to make it less of a default choice... But it may not be enough of a cut. Might consider making them not have reduced range but drop back to BP 1, or something.

As it stands, those rules just add Ignore Cover to the Manticore in exchange for reducing its range.

What about taking a leaf from the Thudd Gun's rules and having 3x AP4+ Ignore Cover, Disrupt long-range shots from each 'Phoenix'?

That might work too. My original thought was to make it based on the mortars as some kind of specialized shells. But since the IG don't get the option to upgrade their units, only take different ones or attach extras to existing formations, I wasn't sure exactly how much sense that'd make. But something like 3x AP 4+, Disrupt, Ignore Cover, Indirect Fire would be neat. Potentially very nasty in groups of 3, as well.
