Those who have sent messages, I’ve received them and am having a think. Deb was prolific with a spectacular work ethic and Elysians are a really difficult army to represent in a fun balanced way so I’m going to need a little time to read through and maybe even try out some of the proposed directions before selecting a new AC. Thanks everyone for your patience and enthusiasm, and Deb for doing so much work. I wish the global epic community hadn’t been locked down for so long, we’d have all got more games in!

Take the time to do what's needed. Elysian's are indeed tough, and Deb did an excellent job on many fronts. It'll take some time to get Elysian's to a good place, nothing should be rushed.

When I designed the ver 4 list I had a few things in mind based on more modern paratroop deployable forces in the Australian army. 102 field battery which supported 3RAR Paratroop Batallion, which had their own Mortar Platoon, supported by Hueys, and other Helicopters which were later replaced by Black Hawks and Tiger Giunships. Recon Platoon 4RAR led by just a corporal for some time, was disbanded after contraversy, and they were nicknamed the Grey Ghosts. Only recently they were vindicated and their Platoon was recognised. They would perform automated ambushes, long range recon, and call in artillery fire and air strikes on VC targets. Also using the Forgeworld made Elysian produced minis as an example to base some of the core force, and then add in the other elements the 3rd edition list had, I tried to both round out and balance the force.

102nd Battery
The 102nd Field Battery was formed in 1957 at Holsworthy Barracks, Sydney, as part of the 1st Field Regiment.

The battery served during the Indonesia–Malaysia confrontation between May and August 1965. While in Malaysia, the battery provided fire support during the Kesang River incursion by Indonesian forces. While serving in North Borneo, equipped with L5 Pack Howitzers, the battery provided defensive support to the 3rd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, as well as Ghurkha, and British Battalions undertaking operations; it also fire support for secret Claret operations in Indonesian territory.

On 18 April 1966, the battery was transferred to the 12th Field Regiment with the 104th Field Battery. Arriving in Vietnam as part of Australia's commitment to the Vietnam War in March 1968, replacing the 106th Field Battery and was equipped with the 105mm M2A2 Howitzer. On the night of 12 May 1968, while at Fire Support Base Coral, a M2A2 howitzer was captured by North Vietnamese troops who temporarily overran part of the base; however, the gun was recaptured shortly afterwards. The 102nd Field Battery was replaced in February 1969, and returned to Australia. During its tour of duty, the battery had been positioned at 30 different Fire Support Bases, fired 60,000 rounds and received the following decorations: 1 MM, 2 MID, 1 MBE and 1 BEM.

The battery became part of the 8th/12th Medium Regiment in November 1973 and in 1983, after being re-equipped with the M198 155mm howitzer, was redesignated 102nd Medium Battery before being disbanded in 1987.

3RAR
Parachute role, 1983–2011

A move to Holsworthy Barracks, Sydney, contemplated since returning from operations in South Vietnam, was conducted at the end of 1981. On 1 December 1983, the battalion assumed responsibility for the Australian Army's conventional parachute capability (previously, D Company 6 RAR had maintained an airborne company).[24][25][26] In 1985, the battalion was granted permission to wear the dull Cherry beret, common to all parachute units worldwide, and to wear parachute wings identical to those worn by the 1st Australian Parachute Battalion during the Second World War.

From 1989, 3 RAR formed the main combat elements of the Parachute Battalion Group, which also included an engineer troop from 1st Field Squadron, signals detachment from 104th Signal Squadron, artillery fire support from 'A' Field Battery, 8th/12th Regiment and medical support from the 1st Parachute Surgical Team.[24][11][27] One of three rifle companies was designated as the Parachute Company Group and maintained at high readiness for three months with another company rotated into the role.[24] The regiment's Reconnaissance Platoon had a medium range pathfinder role trained in free-fall parachuting, including High Altitude Parachute Operations (HAPO), supported by the Special Air Service Regiment in a long range pathfinder role.[24]

The 1st Parachute Surgical Team was raised in January 1989 to provide Level II and limited Level III medical support modelled on a British unit from the Falklands War.[28] In 1995, 105-mm L119 Hamel guns were air dropped for the first time for 'A' Field Battery.[29][24][30]

I wish you well with the version 5 list.

Posting some initial feedback below with BATREPs to (hopefully) follow in the near future. Overall very excited where the list is going.

Previously discussed Changes/Corrections in the Discord group:

- Marauder Destroyers: ‘2x Underwing Rocket’ from FxR to FxF
- Drop Troops: ‘Planetfall’ to ‘Self-Planetfall’

Suggested Edits:

- 7x Long-range Valks are VERY cheap for the drop company / HQ – recommend reducing size to be 12 infantry stands and tweaking the Valk upgrade to ‘125 points for 6x’
o For reference, Minervan Salamanders cost 100 for 3x AVs with scout and only one AC.
- Replace ‘Grey Ghost’ title with ‘Veterans’
- Replace ‘Veteran’ title with ‘Special Weapons Team’
- +35 for Close Support Sentinel
- Allow Melta upgrade for Scout Sentinel for +10 points per
- Remove FxF for Tauros Venator; wasn’t ‘fixed’ in fluff
- To make it more a tradeoff, make Tauros FF 4+ and Venator FF 6+

Other random thoughts:
Command tauros with commander rule?
Long range comms / fleet officer upgrades to provide a bonus to aircraft ground attacks similar to a more limited markerlight?
We’re you planning on integrating cyclops as a unit upgrade? Or don’t see a use for it at this time?

alright 1.1 is up with a comb over spelling and grammatical errors. Marauder Destroyers have been updated. Other than that no other changes have been pushed. That being said be on look out for 1.2, Afishers makes a lot of good balance and development suggestions and I will be incorporating most of them.

Posted up an Elysian vs Minervan BATREP in the BATREP portion of Taccoms (https://www.tacticalwargames.net/taccmd/viewtopic.php?f=84&t=34669). To highlight some of the good and recommended adjustments to the list based on the BATREP:

Recommended Changes: Since the Elysian list is still in development, below are my recommended changes to the list.
• The list still needs to change Planetfall to Self-Planetfall for Drop Troops (played it this way in-game since the creator’s intent was to make it Self-Planetfall).
• With the reintroduction of the Thunderbolts the Lightnings need to be tweaked to give it a role; the Minervan Thunderbolts were better in almost every way to my Lightnings. To be more specific, instead of removing the Thunderbolts (I feel it’s appropriate to have a massive number of aircraft options for a drop troop list), give the different aircraft different roles. The Thunderbolt is a good all-round close-in bulldog. Change the current list’s Lightning Strike to the Vanaheim list’s version as a more a more dedicated, ‘snipey’ AT option with the single 45cm attack. Finally, add an Air Superiority Lightning Fighter option. Maintain the wingtip lascannons but replace the long-barreled autocannon with 2x Skystrike missile options with a profile of Range: 30cm, AA 5+.
• Reduce the cost of the Colossus and Vigilant to 250 pts. For reference, a single Shadowsword is 200 pts for a single WE with DC: 3, 4+ RA, with a 90cm, MW2+, TK(D3) weapon plus 2 Heavy Bolters. While the Shadowsword is slower, it can also take and hold objectives, assault, and is not subject to AA fire.
• Still recommend removing FxF from the Tauros Venator.
• Sergeants seem redundant with the ‘Leader’ trait. Switch to ‘Commander’ to give them more utility, especially to the scout formations. Would be interesting to see the combos with the buggies and other scout vehicles.

Next I'm going to attempt to play a more drop and buggy heavy list to push the list's build potential. If anyone has any list ideas let me know.

That Minervan list looks suspiciously familiar...

Its been awhile but finally have some time to post another Elysian BATREP! This time it was the updated Elysian list versus Kalpesh's Black Legion. Both forces had a majority of formations self-planetfalling, making for a challenging and very dynamic game. Please see attached for the full report and list feedback

Separately, based on multiple games, I've attached the New England list with recommended changes highlighted in red. Look forward to hearing everyone's thoughts.
