Appreciate the clarification Dave. My favorite Ulani unit; glad to see it make its way into the NETEA list.

Re: the Destroyers, this is what I put up for an approval vote:

  • Add "Destroyer Squadron/Three Destroyer Tank Hunters/200 points" to support formations.
  • Change the Laser Destroyer from AT4+, TK to Ulani stats: AT2+, Sniper
  • Drop the Destroyer Tank Hunter from +70 to +10.

The changes have the votes to pass, I was just waiting on the last chair to chime in. I'll try to get the updates in the system by tomorrow regardless of if I hear anything or not.

Good choice. The Ulani version IMHO is the most accurate to the actual role of the unit, and well costed.

It doesn't have Scout, right??

OK, the playtest changes are approved and up in the TP now:
https://tp.net-armageddon.org/army-list ... egion.html
https://tp.net-armageddon.org/pdfs/nete ... legion.pdf

The change list includes:
  • Remove the "Tank Company" formation.
  • Move the "Tank Platoon" to companies and add "(Add any four Leman Russ variants)/(+145 points)" to it.
  • Add "(add three Medusas)/(+100 points)" to the "Assault Gun Battery" support formation.
  • Add "Griffon Battery/Six Griffons/200 points" to support formations.
  • Add "Hellhound Platoon/Six Hellhounds/250 points" to support formations.

No scout on the Destroyers, Bruno.

The current updated list is awesome and gives the list a lot more interesting flexibility - thanks to everyone who chimed in and assembled it!

I don't think the list _needs_ it by any means, but I'm curious if more sponson options have been considered. There are certainly 3d print and other proxy options available, and Russes in 40k have the option to take Heavy Flamers or Multi-Meltas as options. The Demolisher specifically would be more tempting over a Thunderer given the chance to take either of those to justify it's higher price, and conversely it might be convenient to be able to run a tank like the Vanquisher without sponsons considering its range (and to offset the high price.)

It'd also be cool to be able to run the Punisher and even the Annihilator variants though these are more likely to be duplication of similar roles. I know other lists on here have used a profile like 3x Heavy Bolter for the Punisher, and the Annihilator could be a Twin-Las (4+ AT) at a cheaper cost than a regular Russ but that does prompt an issue with spamming 4+ RF options.

Lastly I have one gripe with the Superheavies - why does the Baneblade have two shots at 75cm whereas the poor Stormhammer, with two Stub versions of the same guns, get the same number of shots without a twin benefit? To my mind the Stormhammer should either have 2x Twin Stub Battle Cannons hitting on 2+ AT/AP (given the twin prefix) or 2x Stub Battle Cannons each with 2x 3+ AT/AP. My apologies if this has been discussed already and I've missed it.

I'd feel it pushes collections too far into wysiwyg range. For instance, many people have vanguishers from forgeworld which were sponsonless models but use them in their Minervan/SL armies already. It didn't matter the sponson weapons because of the general hand-wave abstraction of EA stats trying to keep away from being "too in the weeds". Now with that hypothetical you're forcing people to switch up their OOP collections due to making a very low level details change on a list because 15 years ago they chose FW vs GW epic models.

You see, EA is very proxy/counts-as friendly so it's somewhat a suggestion going against the grain and culture of the game. It's far better to just do that in friendly play with agreement of your opponent or in other dedicated lists where the model isn't as important. You may want to see the EpicUK Ulani tank list for an example of that which is designed around LR tanks without sponsons which drop the FF abilities and costs and you gain other abilities / builds. Remember, one collection really allows you to field multiple lists, especially with guard and not requiring additional models just to indicate when you're switching between them for minor tweaks.

It's easy enough to swap weapons and FF around for your own games, but adding that kind of option to the tournament list isn't what we're here to do. I'd rather spend my playtesting credit with my group on getting another "nearly there" list approved.

That's fair on the sponson front, I totally see the issue with WYSIWYG there. I also see the wisdom in running the 30cm Plasma Cannons over the 15cm MM or Heavy Flamer since those further challenge the short range of the Demolisher, whereas the Plasma matches the main gun distance. I think the Destroyer fills the "Vanquisher without sponsons" role and I'm going to try mixing Thunderers and Demos in the same Small Company to reduce cost since not all of them necessarily need FF range.

Any thoughts on including the Punisher and/or Annihilator given this is the tank-focused list, and the more options the cooler? Any balance concerns with offering more Conquerer/Exterminator costed options like these? Kind of redundant but might open up some more versatility.

Any thoughts on those SHT stats?

I may just try testing both of the latter and see how it goes.

I've had a lot of fun using Punishers on the Penal Legion list in friendly play and so far haven't had anyone raise an eyebrow on them. They're absolutely a monsters in FF (as they should be) but have a pretty short range so balance out well. Try them out for stats from that. Even though they're not NetEA that's not because it hasn't been played, just I don't want to be arsed to champion it for tournament pack use.

6 strong Conquerer detachments are amazeballz. Don't let anyone tell you different ;)
