I suppose the original Marauder (SM2nd/TL era)was a ground-attack-aircraft as the Henschel Hs129, P-38 Lightning, etc but with a reargunner in additional to the single pilot or a Junkers Ju87 but with two engines and not a medium bomber as the Heinkel He111 or B-26 Marauder which it seems to be now optical and rules wise.
Else it wouldn't had been invented for use in Epic games (any edition).

I guess. The current Forgeworld model and background make it seem a Strategic Bomber, the kind that flock around in dozens and target enemy cities.

Which is fine for Aeronautica games where the action is Fighters trying to stop them.

A Dive Bomber makes more sense in Epic.

When I first wrote Mossino it was intended to be a bit of a thought experiment along the lines of 'what would a Forgeworld style Epic book look like?' and Forgeworld don't use watermarks in their books. I'm hesitant to move away from that but I will try out a few watermarks and see how it looks.

I understand the desire to mimic the FW books, but this is a small tome and even a slate gray page would be easier on the eyes than pure white.

I can't remember if I brought it up before but having a colored/watermarked background allows you to use white in your datafaxes and makes making your datafax pictures easier to blend in to the box.  If you still want light gray colored datafax boxes, they will still look better on a darker background.  These are just suggestions.

FW doesn't use any full-page watermarks, but does use smaller watermarks for specific sections, like the fluff-stat sheets.  I know because I just sold all my FW books to the owner of the LGS, for use as store references.

Besides, lone twin-engine bombers did seek and destroy targets on battlefields, they just didn't do it in World War 2.  The A-26 Invader was a counter-insurgency (COIN) aircraft used during Vietnam.  Yes, the USAF was still using WW2 vintage aircraft in that environment.

Just look at the Forgeworld Marauder and tell me that's a lone engine battlefield bomber.

Not related to watermarks or aeroplane stats, but I just found that the scenario forces are not identical to the force lists, especially for the Mossinians. I assume there has been some tweaking since the scenarios were created. FOr instance, in scenario 1, the Mossinians have two infantry companies with "illegal" company upgrades, 2xOgryns and 2xSnipers respectively. Since it is a historical set-up with fixed forces, it might not matter that much, but I still find it to be uncharacteristical and lacking in flavour. If ogryns were used in large formations, a typical historical scenario would strive to include them in such a way.

In scenario 3, the Mossinians suddenly have access to Griffons.

In scenario 4, the Cassinum Irregulars field an infantry company with Snipers and one with Ogryns. The plural form indicate 2 each, but it could be wise to print out 2x to make things as clear as possible.

Also, for the sake of simplicity, the scenario force lists could point out the BTS.

As always, keep up the good work,

/Fredmans

I see now that v1.06 had corrected the Griffons. It seems I was reading the 1.05. Will do a re-read.
