However its one dimensional so not a tourny vehicle

Perhaps so, but the army lists are only intended to provide balance in a tournament situation... some players (In fact, the vast majority of players) are not interested in tourney-style gaaming.

Well most players here don't play at Turneys but the most games played are the standart turney scenario from the rulebook.

Well just because you use the scenario doesn't mean you go into it blind with a locked list like you do in an actual Tourney.

You just buy SHTs and then when you know your opponent's race you determine which combination of them to use.

No but we usually build our armies blind.

Well even with 10cm movement you can just put 3 Salamader Commands in an SHT company and garrison them.

Actually I think you can make a rather potent Minervan force and Garrison the whole lot of it.

Definitely not an intended strategy. :)

In the Minervan list, yes.

It hasn't caused problems so far... until now. :D

As long as I know WE cannot garrison? Even with scouts attached?

I suspect its not an Intended Strategy, but its inexpensive and gets your SHTs up close and personal fast.

Now if it turns out to be too nasty, then it can still be done with single SHTs just not companies if you say 'only one upgrade of each type per formation'

Now if you go with the language of the Steel Legion you can't give Upgrades to Support Formations and only one of each type is allowed. That would prevent SHTs from garrisoning at all.

Seigemasters also use that language, is this an oversight?
