Simple question: Was there ever an official SG acknowledgement that the 150 pt cost was incorrect? or is this just something we've all assumed? I've recently met another player who claims to have heard that the cost of Warhounds was reduced to allow for the loss of Warlords / Reavers. Are we all just guessing or has an official statement ever been made? regards, Reaver |

I thought this had been FAQ'd but I've just looked and can't see it anywhere. The WPS ruleset certainly cover this and point them back to 250. I don't think anyone plays them at 150. 6 Warhounds in a 3000 point marine army would be truly sick! |

Thanks for the reply. I must admit, I've checked all the FAQs I can find as well, and so far all I get is peoples' opinions. Opinions I agree with, I'll hastily add! I was just hoping there was some official mention that the 150 cost is a mistake somewhere. Because the 6 Warhounds in 3000pts was exactly what I ran into! Regards, Reaver |

Next time someone says that 150 points are supposed to balance out a lack of Warlords ask them to explain how that works when most Marine armies don?t take a Warlord (as far as I can tell). |

Okay, tried this question on the SG boards and got this very useful reply from Neal Hunt: The 150 points was a typo in the first draft and the list was adjusted. For some reason when it went to publication they didn't use the v2 list. Jervis acknowledged that the point cost was an error on the old boards: http://forums.specialist-games.com/epic....te,scar He stated explicitly that he had asked Keith to fix it. If that link does not work for you (it's in the Army Champion portion of the boards which was restricted), the relevant text is: quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TRC: Warhounds listed as 1 or 2 for 150 points I think they should be 1 or 2 for 250 points each Jervis: Thanks for this Chris. I'll ask Keith to take the file down fro the official new rules section for the moment; we'll replace it with a corrected file asap and then remove the experimental file. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That was April 6, 2005. They are 250. A comedy of errors has somehow prevented the typo from the original v1 draft from ever being corrected. Details posted on the SG boards. |
