OK I've been threatening this for over a year now so here it is: SPACE MARINES KITCHEN SINK LIST

The purpose of this is to be the EA equivalent of an anything goes list for Marines in order to provide some reasonable guidance for people that want to play with all the toys with their friends for a lark. In addition jsut because GW invents some stupid new sub sub sub variant of a unit or adds something redundant I don't want to discuss shoehorning every moronic idea that comes into their heads. It purposely doesn't cover relics (HH and unique stuff) and specialty units (Sanguinary Guard, Thundercav, DA crap) as those already are part of existing lists (but smoke 'em if you got 'em). It is spectacularly unsuited for competitive play and as the pirate code goes, "it's more of a guideline, really" so while feedback is welcome, most "cheese" and "balanceZOMG" statements will be flatly ignored deleted.

Units and formations are liberally pulled existing NetEA lists (specifically Codex, IF, RG, SAV, and SW). If there's something missing that's good to go, let me know to add it in.

It is NetEA but not for tournament use, nor will it ever be put into the TP or anything else.

I think that having all the stats and points costs in one place is a good thing, especially if it helps new Experimental / Developmental lists as, at the minimum, allows simple comparison between any new proposed units for variant SM Chapter lists and their nearest equivalents.

Cheers James

PS: Just realised - can you add stats at the end?

Points are a list concern and are not universally set. Each list has it's own. This list has point suggestions already included (if I missed something please indicate so I can redact).

If someone wants to produce the amalgamated stats, have at it and I'll be happy to c&p into the file.

Thunderawk Transporter

Raven no. We can't figure out if it's an AC a skimmer nor on stats. Also not codex.

THawk Transporter is a good one. Will nab!

This was your one big chance to remove termitubbies from Space Marine canon and you blew it.

Breakin' my heart, Anakin. :(

It's been codex since 6th edition, I think. I guess it'd be weird to have a skimmer alongside a supposedly similar flyer (the Storm Eagle), but it'd be nice because of its Dreadnought transport capacity. And there are probably more people with Stormraven models.

The Assault and Devastator entries have typos.

How about the Stormhawk as a more air-air focused variant of the Storm Talon? Kitchen sink, after all. Can't wait to see the Kitchen Sink Chapter come to save the day!

Really retcon in 6th? Ahh sure yes, why not? This thing over here? Oh yeah we've had them for ages, mate! :D
Yeah I can throw it in then.

Care to note the centurion typos?

Yeah cool beans on the storm hawk. Got a suggestion for it weapons? The rest is pretty much a Storm Talon so we've got that set. And yes, that's exactly what the list is for so why not.

Random question, is such a thing interesting for other factions? Like a Guard one for instance? Just wondering...

Post subject:  Re: THE KITCHEN SINK

The typos are actually in the Assault Marine and Devastator entries, not Centurions:

Assault - Replace "For Assault units" with "Four Assault Units"
Dev - Replace "Devestator" under formation with "Devastator"

Couple others:
In the Scout entry - Four scout units should be "Four Scout units" (capitalised).
In the Fire Raptor entry - not 100% on it, but isn't it "Fire Raptor", two words, rather than "Fireraptor", one word?

Broadly meaning an index of all available stuff, with a crude kitchen sink points value total thrown in? I don't know about the necessity of a points value and formation size, although that's undoubtedly just me and probably has lots of value but with commensurately more work involved, especially if there are multiple instances of differing formation sizes. However a collation of all unit statlines for the multi-list factions along with a note as to which 'official' list they show up in would be super, super neato.

Finally a full marine list. This is really the thing that has really been keeping me out of playing more EA.
And having similar lists for other races might be enough to tempt other players over.

Yeah this has ALWAYS been allowed in EA (seriously, it's right in the rulebook) but for some reason people have to have some "official" looking document to do it otherwise god kills a kitten or something. [shrugs] Here it is! :D

OP updated
-corrected mispriced SM Lander
-added THawk Transporters
-misc working/spelling corrections
-added Storm Raven and Storm Hawk

Storm Raven had to be way toned down from the versions in the BA and GK lists so as to not be not fun and give a reason to take rams. This removed more of the shooting and bookkeeping by ditching the Single Shot missiles to represent they're being used here as a cheep assault skimmer vs a dedicated gunship. Correspondingly the FF was bumped.

Storm Hawk honestly is IDENTICAL or WORSE stats than the approved Storm Talon. There's not even the option to make it a fighter vs FBomber as it's already that. Since the main iconic weapon for the interceptor is the Icarus Cannon and that has almost approved stats in the IW list, though titled Stalker Autocannon there, they're the same weapon on both units in 40k so I put that on. Since the real benefit of the Icarus cannon array isn't the weapon but the tracking system of the machine spirit, the weapon is FW instead of FFW to represent the ability. Since it is worse than the Storm Talon weapons I went with a better AA package and better range and arc but far worse at ground support to give it some utility/difference. Players not liking that suggestion can instead use the EXISTING Storm Talon stats but instead improve the armour save to be a 4+ to represent the defensive bonus of the Halo Launcher instead.

I might be able to bash out a variable sized guard one this week by adding existing guard formations into the "variable company" heavy mech list. Shouldn't take me too long; leave it with me...
