Alpharius Omegon is a spectacularly awful name.

Konrad Curze had never dawned on me, seems so obvious now ::)

Just like most of GW canon, it's all stolen from somewhere :)

Is it just me that was expecting some sort of Kipling-style "just so" story about the Primarchs here?

Me too. I can imagine GW lawyers slapping a C&D on someone for using the Chaos symbol GW stole from Moorcock.

Yes, but since they are Alpharius AND Omegon, it is much better. ;D

As for GW claiming it, you can pretty much claim anything - it remains to be seen if that claim will hold up in a court of law though. And we all know that GW is the worst when it comes to creations "inspired" by others. Much of their inspired creations though have developed far enough beyond that point though that they are pretty much standalone properties now. Look at Necrons and Genestealers - at one time, they were obvious ripoffs of the Terminator and Aliens. They've now been modified to the point now that you'd be hard pressed to prove any definite link.
