These guys don't seem to have their own thread so I think it's important they do.

Could we make two small but very appropriate additions to bring this list up-to-date / better? I know it's a GW created list, but if we're doing our version of it with altered stats and costs then IMO we might as well go the whole way and do it properly:

Scout Bikes - in the Bike themed army it would be fitting to have their scouts on bikes, probably instead of normal scouts rather than as well.

Land Speeder Tempest - the White Scars first created these, see here. If the Crusader is in the Black Templars list only in epic shouldn't the same apply here?

There's a good proxy for one already, while the other could be easy to do by painting in camo or converting if feeling brave.

I think the swap with Scouts for Bike Scouts would be nice and fluffy but I'm not convinced about the Tempest however. Plus the LRC is in 3? SM lists atm? BT, DA and IF?

stats for Bike scouts

Infantry
Move 35cm
Armor 5+
CC 3+
FF5+
Light arms
Scout, Mounted, Walker 175 pts. for 5

Option: Commander

Stats for Tempest LS
Amoured Vehicle
Move 35
Armor 5+
CC 6+
FF 5+
Twin Typhoon ML
Assault Cannon
Skimmer 250 for 5

Option: Commander

Also and more importantly, I would suggest removing 3 of the Bikes in the Bike Squad, reduce its cost to 225, and add a Fast Attack upgrade to Tacticals, Bikes and Land Speeders consisting of 3 Bikes, Assault Bikes or Land Speeders for 125 pts.

Also, I would apply a 50 point reduction to the Terminators to cover the loss of teleport.

Thoughts?

Wow not to necro but was re-reading this list for my own edificaiton and I have to wonder what GW was smoking. I can add vindicators to my whirlwinds! Rad! [sarcasm]

Yeah Tempest and Scout bikes for sure. LoM has a point about Termies.

Why on earth anyone would use this list is beyond me. Codex while leaving dreads out is far more playable.

I agree termies should get a points drop, they've been 600 in the EUK list for a good while with zero issues :)

I'm fine with the lack of Dreads, that's fluffy. The other stuff I mentioned though is just odd.

I think the terminators thing is like Saim-hann and their mounted aspects.... you can't take them without transport to represent the need for speed

no clue why hunters were removed, they shouldn't be IMO

it was in all the fluff that being plugged into a dreadnought is living hell to a whitescar, but then GW were all about the whitescar dreads when they released the storm talon so..... meh

vindicators are basically bulldozers with guns, not the light, fast attack vehicles that the whitescars use

also pretty sure whitescars don't use devs either

I guess the question is how far can we go before it gets busted down to Developmental?

I've read they used stripped-down Rhinos too. Are the vehicles in the picture below some type of Rhino? They look like a Landspeeder/Tempest front/top but they appear to be on the ground and have wheels. Also, the rear portion of the vehicle on the far left is not a standard Rhino.

Having given this some thought, personally I'd leave scouts alone, they work fine as they are, don't see the burning need to mount them

I'd add hunters to all the formations that can usually take them in the codex list (seems like an oversight to me) and add tempests in as a land speeder upgrade

I would have thought this could all be done without busting the list back to developmental.... or just add a requirement for playtest games (happy to help out with these, just about got everything I need for my whitescars force together now)
