At this stage, I can only base the content of the list on collected internet rumours. The content of the list is being formed at the moment, but i will reserve points, stats and playtesting until after such point as the codex has been out in the wild for a while. |

I'm quite interested in the Grey Knights, and there's a decent possibility I might be interested in scratchbuilding some models, if the list is good enough to convince me to collect an army. ![]() |

Excellent, just remember that 5 Dreadknights must tesselate to form a Grey Knights titan! |

Are you sure that's not 8 Grey Knights combining to form a Grey Knights Tesseract? One of the few Marine lists I'd be interested in, looking forward to it. |

I didn't know Grey Knights fought open battlefield type engagements - always thought they were more special ops missions and only deployed against Chaos under the scrutiny of an Inquisitor. Shows how much I've been following 40k fluff. |

Sales of colored marines must be slowing so releasing a new codex for grey/metallic ones will soon boost sales ![]() |

Shows how much I've been following 40k fluff. Mostly they only fight single squad combats I think, but they are occasionally known to field task forces of comparable size to a Space Marine Chapter's battle force, for example when they fought Angron (100 Terminators deployed IIRC) or on Vraks when their total force levels were "classified" but was large enough to include a Strike Cruiser, Multiple Land Raiders and Thunderhawk gunships in addition to their infantry & dreadnoughts. They do indeed tend to work with Inquisitors, mind you, and Inquisitors are heavily featured in the new Grey Knights Codex. |

Lets not forget that the book is likely going to be a total fluff revamp ;-) If you'd like a look at my working outline doc, you can find it here http://www.scribd.com/doc/48960560 - it's a savepoint because it's 2.30am now, I am in the middle of thinking about The Grand Plan :-) awaiting Frogbear counsel, cleaning up and borrowed stats this weeked! Then some pondering on tactics, and waiting around a lot for the book to come out to work on it some more. |

fattdex wrote: awaiting Frogbear counsel, Oh no. More expectations ![]() I will start to read this after I get some jobs done. I like the idea of Warp Quake. It really gives the feel of Grey Knights having an influence on such things. I saw squads squads of 4 yet I think I read that wrong (formations of 8 units correct?). If they are only formations of 4 units, that would be a concern. I will look properly when I finish all the jobs. You have a lot of support for this list and it has been absent for far too long. I am glad you picked it up. I was too busy and have enough on my plate. Finally I may get to play with the minis I bought for the list, and finally the World Eaters will have an opponent to relive the battle against Angron and possibly rewrite history ![]() |

Perhaps they can receive a +2 or 4 upgrade but they are meant to be support to core grey knight squads (and you notice there is a lot of teleport and commander available) also as units of four to squeeze multi units in thunderhawks. Edit- oh i thought you meant the purgation;purifier squads. The core grey knight strike squad begins with 4 and can add up to four other mixed grey knight squads as a formation upgrade. I guess that taking naked units of four could lead to popcorn but putting it as an idea they may cost the same as a tactical squad of six. |

Had a look at that file, seriously over-stuffed with special rules, upgrades, and formation composition options. Needs extensive pruning. |

Post subject: | Re: Grey Knights |
yes these are all the ideas ben! not pruning anything yet... getting a feel of how to put formations together to represesnt the army, how they should work, play out some versioins, then take the snippers out obviously. |
