This comes after long debate and mixed ideas about the Dark Angels and Imperial Fists Terminator options.

Should the IF have Titanhammer Units? Why not Salamanders have Heavy Flamers. Either way should they be just Assault or Hammers only?

Should the Dark Angels have Assault? or maybe just Lighting Claws if the IF have just Hammers? Or should they both have just Assault?

These things need to be pounded out to help Hena and the NetERC get the NetEA Books ready.

Standard and Chapter variant (dedicated fluff reason) for me. I would hate Terminators Assaults to become a 'me too' item.

Assault Terminators don't make much sense on the scale of Epic, either. Things without guns don't.

I love model variety. I loath rules for the sake of rules. All terminators could be appropriately represented by the same statline in my opinion.

Imperial Fists are a special case because they have a named, dedicated, specificly assault terminator formation. Other chapters do use assault terminators, but generally mixed in with the shooty types, as represented by the standard terminator stats.

Because of this, I can't vote in that poll, as my answer is:

Standard only, except for Imperial Fists.

How about the new Terminator Patroclus? 3+ RA and Inv Save? Maybe a variation on living metal?

Now, in all seriousness, I voted C. If chaos termies can have a different statline from loyalist termies, then chapter variants are okay too.

IIRC Codex Terminator fight in type specific squads. They don't mix really, unlike the DA. Where a squad could have a mix of Assault and Shooty Terminators. Now to balance that to Epic it seemed more fitting to have different stands in a formation then making a new stand that would have been most likely considered "over the top"

Also a Standard Terminator stand doesn't really account for Assault IMO. Maybe that is because their already powerful in combat and therefore seems to include the Assault type, which would be un-Codex. So maybe the Standard Terminator was made too powerful in consideration? I mean they have 2x Assault Cannons and Power Fists just like a Standard/Shooty 40k Squad would have.

And isn't the TitanHammer Formation another Apocalypse monkey?? That seems to be ok at times while others time it's not??

I agree that I don't want to see a 'me too' thing. However I felt that since IF and DA were both working on the ideas of Assault Terminators I figure we should established if they should be the same stats to shared within the NetEA Project or would IF have Hammers and DA Claws? Or DA have a 'Assault' ones? As the difference there are very small at Epic level, but DA wouldn't be calling themselves "TitanHammers"

We all know how you feel about Epic and stats... :D ;D

Well I never saw the codex preventing Marines to field assault squads and standard squads together. Indeed, terminators are supposed to be rare, and I can't think why a terminator formation in epic should necessarily represent 4 squads of the same type.

Should I refrain from voicing my opinion on a very relevant thread because I already did so elsewhere ? I think that kind of policy would cut the activity on these forums by a large percentage ;D

I am okay with the idea of a variant Terminator unit in principal, but like all the variant units it should have a compelling reason for inclusion, i.e. an iconic unit or some sort of trait critical to the feel of the list.

What Neal said, and also heavily restricted in relation to the 'standard' types.
