I couldn't find any discussion regarding this but have people on this forum considered the addition of the new Stormraven to the space marine army lists? Since I'm much too new to this game I have no idea what this would do to the army list balance but I quite like the idea that Space marine armies could get away from using regular Imperial Navy for close air support. Since it's also a transport it would give some additional choices in aerial deployment apart from thunderhawks and landing craft. What do you think? |

As a light VTOL type aircraft, a bit like a Valkyrie, we went with Skimmer, and also Planetfall to represent those times when it drops from orbit. |

Ah, I see. Never looked too closely at the IG lists but I guess it makes sense to have them as skimmers since Valkyries and Vultures set precedent. Too bad it's only BA at the moment. But I guess that regular "Vanilla" Ultramarines will get access to these little babies |

Just use the points cost from the BA list in your Codex Marines army. You won't be able to use it in a tournament or anything, but you can use it in friendlies. ![]() |

I'd be hard pressed to find a tournament here since I'm the only one with Epic models ![]() I'm making a leap of faith assembling two armies with the hopes of getting one or two other players in my club start playing. I'll probably try to convert/scratch-build some Stormravens once I get a good look at the 40k model. |

That's the way to do it—turn up at your club with two armies and the offer to teach, and you'll find would-be generals lining up. Epic lends itself particularly well to the old-school 40K players who love the universe but are looking for a deeper strategic challenge. That's how I "sell it", anyway. ![]() |

Ah, another problem then. Apart from me most 40k players are far from old school. As far as they are concerned 40k came into being with 4th edition, maybe 3rd if I'm "lucky" ![]() I still have some hopes though, there are a few that actually play BFG so maybe I can lure them in from that angle ![]() |

The BFG crowd tends to be of a similar demographic, yes. ![]() |

Lyynark, just keep trying to find people to play. There has been anyone to play against here for years. Then last week a 40K player chimed in that he loved to play EA and now I'm dusting off the old army and getting it ready to play. Never know when some will be around that likes this game. |
