Post subject:  The Tyrant's Legion
Currently i'm reading Imperial Armour 9 which deals with the Badab War.
Included is an armylist which is called The Tyrant's Legion which is a mix of Space Marines (Astral Claws) and induced Auxilia troops which are used as meat shields.

With this i developed an army list with mainly (poor) Imperial Guard formations whith some restricted elite Space Marine formations.

Some notes whicharen't explicitly stated in the list:
- You can take up to 33% of your points for Maelstrom Navy formations.
- The Dictator Cruiser is able to transport Planetfall units (for now only two formations worth of Arvus Lighters full of Renegade Marauders).


Further ideas:
- including Strike Cruiser, Battle Barge, Drop Pod, Thunderhawk and Landing Craft.

- turn this into a defensive list with Sentry Gun Batteries (allowed in the Wh40k armylist), Fortifications and Thunderfire Cannons.

Have not looked at the list yet however, what program did you use for the "nice datasheets and unit descriptions"?

Did the stats from memory. I thought that were the NetEA stats?
Walker, speed increase to 30cm and points drop for the formation to 250pts?

Not sure about the speed increase but the Walker and point dropped was approved by Hena recently in one of the threads.

Nope, it was points drop OR walker

I asked him about it, however as usual, there was no reply. It appears to be the way people deal with stuff they do not wish to be challenged on these days. They just ignore the post it seems - and perceptions are everything.

It does wonders for their level of respect as an AC - let me tell you....

Well that is a thread I missed reading his response. After his non-reply to my question and yet another poll, even my eyes glaze over.

Like everything however, it was getting blood out of a stone. It should not be like this.

The change also did not (and probably never will) tackle the belief that the formation is argued to cost 200-225 points.

'the Tyrant's due' cover rule should be there, just to ensure massed assaults with the marines safely at the back!

Or is it meant to be an auxilia list with occasional marine support?

Too many different units (possibly)? I appreciate people like variety in their models, but multiple types of leman russ and squillions of big guns?

The stats all fit on a single page though, so probably shouldn't complain.

Update.
Version V0.3 now downloadable in the first posting.

Changes:
- removed the Corpse Taker as it served no purpose in the list.
- therefore added Leader to the Legion Centurion
- added the option to add Legion Space Marine and Legion Retaliator units to Legion Auxilia Command, Legion Auxilia and Armsmen formations.
- added the Tyrant's Due special rule.
